Yeah i think the weight savings make up for the stiffness of an aerospoke. Plus if you build the wheel right, you aren't losing that much stiffness at all. Scrod, are there any benefits of your old aerospoke that you miss riding your new wheelset?

Yeah, the fancier Park Took chain breakers can be a bit of a nuisance sometimes because even if you're slightly crooked, you'll break the pin and it sucks if you don't have a replacement on hand. On the K710s, I usually use my tiny little Cyclo Rivoli chain tool.

The Aerospoke seemed to kill a little more vibration in the front but aside from that, I haven't noticed any other real differences.

Scrod,

My Kilo TT has little to no clearance up front for a fender and rain is coming. What should I go with? I'm looking for something I can easily remove and what not. Are the fenders that mount to the downtube good? I'm thinking of this for the rear:

I have that exact same fender. Works fine. My only recommendation is to make sure those joints are screwed down tight after you adjust it. I just almost lost the fender and did lose the little nut thing yesterday because it was loose. I will now have to figure out some way to rig it with a wingnut or something.

Take said crankarm(s) and flip them on their side so the pedal touches the ground (You can do both at the same time if need be if you have crank pullers.) Then, apply quite a bit of liquid wrench or a similar product to the area where pedal meets crank, lightly tapping the crank arm every so often to let the oily stuff sneak in farther. Let it sit for at least an hour And give it another go with a dedicated pedal wrench. I've dealt with my share of stuck pedals, and they almost always royally suck.

Thanks kaz. What do you use for front fenders?

Are booties/shoe covers are a must? I wear Vans when I ride, but if need be, I could go clipless and buy some booties/shoe covers for the winter.

They aren't really necessary. When it's wet water fills up in them like a fish tank. buy some winter boots and bigger straps/clips to accommodate them.

I had full fenders on before, but I just took 'em off for CX so now I'm just sporting the back one. It's not too big a deal for me to get soaked on my commute - I shower and change at work, and going home who cares if I get wet. For just regular old rain, my feet just get wet. Like homebrewk says, when it's wet my clipless shoes fill with water enough that it sloshes around. But, meh, they dry during the work day if I take the insoles out and put them on the HVAC vent. I might be getting booties/shoe covers soon but that'll be for CX.

For winter cycling, I wear big ol' boots - my winter bike is equipped with toe clips and straps big enough to fit boots.

I need some sort of front fender haha. But the Kilo TT's clearance is nil, so I'm trying to see if the downtube ones are even worth getting. :\

Look up SKS fenders. I remember seeing a 47cm kilo on campus with them. Front and back.

Can you PM or Facebook me pics? My wheel has like zero clearance with the caliper ( I need a new fork). It actually rubs the front brake sometimes.

Dear Scrod,
Will Retrogression be getting any of the Sugino RD-2's in 165mm soon? Also, do they come in 1/8th inch at all or just 3/32?

scrod do you have a picture of your protype bb with the 75 crank arm (installed) by chance? I was trying to peek at your 725 pics and it looks more flush against the shell than mine does, but my clearance on the chainstays seems perfect. I'm just worried about...
