Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Oh, that's true. I guess it was what I thought he want.

In other news, slamming your stem faceplate, slamming your rear dropouts, slamming your 1 inch threadless steerer tube

Long story short, use parts that fit.

If this is a hand built frame -- and it certainly appears to be -- the slot may well have been cut with a single hacksaw blade (I usually use 2 two blades in one handle, but that's just me). The slot is not fully closed. The seat post appears to be securely clamped. Where's the problem?

My bad, I read your post wrong.

At least I can admit I was wrong and move on. At the end of each day, your bike is still effed up.
