Retrogression straps broke after two months, so I cannot recommend them as far as durability goes.

Your cog is slipping.
Off-topic but related:
I had a set of Schwalbe Durano Plus tires that began fraying along the sidewalls after only about a week on my bike. Instead of sniveling about how Durano Plus tires suck on an internet forum I contacted Schwalbe directly, who told me - based on the code printed inside the tires - that there had been other reports of a few bad tires from that particular batch and immediately sent me replacement tires (free of charge) which have held up amazingly well.
Regardless of how much a company strives for perfection, sometimes **** just happens.

Nothing is perfect and nothing will ever be perfect. defects and anomalies happen. like scrod pointed out, simply contact the seller/company and explain your problem. **** happens and generally they will be willing to help you.
if the tire on your car blew out and it was a michelin, would you then be OMGOMG I DONT RECOMMEND DURRR MAH TAYR BLEWD OUT IT NO GEWWD.....
stop being ********.
aside from all the "dumb" flowing about.
clipless is your friend

Dude, come on. All I'm saying is that you could have - and should have - contacted me directly and you would have been taken care of.

They're definitely a bit more robust, but I'd want to let them soften up a little bit before I make a clear review on how they perform. So far though I have 0 complaints, and if I ever get around breaking the origin 8's I'll be buying another pair of v2s.
But that seems logical; why the hell would you do that?

I can elaborate if you want.
My retro straps didn't break because of a defect, they broke because of what IMO was a bad design (or quite possibly poor installation by me, but I don't think so). The strap had some terrible pedal rub and eventually the rubbing caused the straps to break. Sure, I would contact scrod if they were defective, but I didn't think they were defective, just poorly designed. Why would I care to replace it with the same poorly designed strap that would probably break in the same manner? I decided to cut my losses and move on.
Just because everyone around here is up scrod's ass doesn't mean we can't give honest review of their performance. sry guys

It might be helpful if you said what cranks and pedals you were using. If they don't work for some setups this would be good to know.

Your cog is slipping.
We had a few people contact us saying the lower straps were beginning to fray where they made contact with their crank arms, which is why we streamlined the hardware on the V2 straps. It's all good, man. Everyone can't like everything.

As I said before, I try to be objective when I post anything meant to be helpful or technical and the implication that my original comment should be construed as whining or sniveling solely because it has to do with a business that is popular on this board is insulting.
TL;DR: not mad bro, just keeping it real.
