Today I rode my SS with the newly lowered gear I thought I now needed due to my less frequent riding.
The good news is that it was the right move. The bad news is I still rode like crap.

Went to the SD velodrome swap meet today and it was a total bust for me. Couldn't make up my mind on anything and when I did I would've been beaten by somebody else.
An impulse shoppers paradise. Not to mention a ton baja californians in full force dropping mad cash on often less than ideal deals.
My sqrl on the other hand ended up snagging up a lot of kit while I came back empty handed.
The jelly belly team was there selling off team equipment and surprisingly leader wasn't there this time.

I was lusting this Alan Carbonio which is actually in my size for once. But common sense kicked in when I tried to justify $1.1k for something I'll most likely have just to have.

I think I ruined my bike.
My rear wheel was scuffed pretty badly from my brake, and I had to change a tire.
Figured I'd go ahead and paint my back wheel orange to match my pedal straps.

Turned out to be a very bright orange/red and it looks awful.
Waiting for a week of snow and repainting the whole bike.

I've learned a lot about mtb wheelsets in the last couple of days.
I've also learned the specs on the cannondale website aren't always correct, but hey, I have a really nice easton wheelset that I can't use!

Today Cotton Bureau posted a goofy bike shirt I illustrated. I have also sold about 50 of my "The Cannibal" shirts. I do wish this project wasnt such a hassle, its really eating into my non existent free time.

Today was the first day that could really be called winter biking for me. Temp will be at or below freezing all day. The lake was angry, with waves crashing up over the lake front path and completely covering it at times. Along "the curve", the combination of waves and freezing temps created a sheet of ice (on a section of the trail that is heavily banked towards the lake). I was the only one of a group of about 6 cyclists that didn't completely wipe out. One guy fell and started sliding down the slope towards the lake... it was a little scary. Whenever the waves from the lake wash up over the path I get recurring visions of being sucked into the water and/or losing my bike to the lake.
