Ha. Played basketball for an hour on my lunch in that heat. After spending the first 29 years of my life in New England it's still funny to me to be cursing the mid day sun when it's almost Thankgiving.

You have a massive collection, I'm actually impressed.

Today I'm home after a week of vacation with my gf (NY,TX).

Here's my paraphrased story:

NY: Crazy party time with my little sister
Bushwick neighnorhood of Brookyln, very hip, connected girl (and my bff). We did nothing touristy really, she just showed us cool local spots for food/drink/fun in many neighborhoods of brooklyn and manhattan. This trip was really a blast - NYC is intense. 'Twas my first time and I have to say wow this city is really is the center of the universe.

TX: Wholesome family time with her sisters
DFW metroplex, Fort Worth side. Both married with children. This trip was more family oriented (obv), but we did spend a day in Fort Worth to get a feel for the local culture, north side (stockyards).

This trip was relaxing and welcome after NYC, plus I like kids. The sister we stayed with was quite fun and we got along really well - she spent as much time as she could away from work and her kids drinking and hanging out with us.

All in all it was a great trip and i'm appreciative of learning about new peoples and places. I'm a total homebody and don't travel enough.

The End.

hats off to your sister for doin' it rite.

So many people miss out on experiencing real NYC by just doing the typical touristy BS, it just amazes me.

Ya shes rad. I kinda sorta wanted to check out central park, but visiting the statue of liberty, empire state building, times square (or any of that kind of crap) are the last things I'll do as long as she's around.

BTW nice Serotta in that other thread. Thing is hawt.

Pink Milwaukees to Archetypes, 2x/3x, black Lasers and alloy nipples.

They should be pretty. Cheap and relatively light too.

statue of liberty and empire state are fine being experienced by looking at them from a distance for 10 seconds. No need to get up close and certainly no reason to go in.

You can eat at TGI friday anywhere, no need to go to Times Square.

Central Park is nice to walk through but if you've been to a park it's nothing special. I would assume it's more special if you actually live there because it's a oasis from urban life

Rode my fixed gear townie-dork bike to all my clients this morning. My first real "commute" ride since I've moved to Denver. I need to get a non-onsite job ASAP... Anyone know of someone looking for a veteran sysadmin?

Waited on line for roughly 5 hours last night downtown to get my PS4.I was 360 in line out of 444 available units. It would have been half the time but Chase cards were getting declined so they needed to call and get verification for EVERY purchase.

Long story short: I'm an A-hole for not pre ordering.

And yet there will still be a chance that somebody waited in that line for that long for a bricked/ malfunctioning unit which they cannot replace for a couple weeks do to lack of stock. Hopefully not you.

Bikes: Guru Evolo R, Colnago Pista, Look AL 464P SS, various frankenbikes

Today I cleaned and re-packed the bottom bracket on my SS, reassembled and adjusted everything to perfection, and then realized that I reversed the spindle. Total boneheader. Go back, Jack, do it again. And to think that I was once a shop mechanic…..

that's literally a bike every 12 minutes for 9 hours straight without a break!
no wonder today sucked for you....45 bikes in 9 hours is insane!! especially with them all having gyros that you had to adjust and dial in right outta the box!
