its an enormous undertaking to police all five boroughs like they do, mad props on that. they definitely take a LOT of liberties that most other cities would never get away with though. anyway glad youre not in jail

Almost got arrested for carrying my pocket knife.
I was approached by 3 plain clothed officers in time square because I had my knife clip sticking out of my back pocket. It is a non automatic, non assisted open blade under 4" which is with in the legal limit. I think the fact that I had the clip exposed makes it a "visible weapon" so they stopped me and brought me to do a background check. Since I had no previous arrests I was let go.
They claimed my knife is a gravity knife, meaning it can be opened with little force, which is BS in my opinion. The only way to open my knife like that would be to grab the blade and whip it open.
TLDR: I learned to carry my knives in my pocket with out exposing them.

dafuq is that supposed to accomplish? I carry a knife a the very least to pick crap out of my tires if I get a flat.
Today I rode around for several hours and hung out at a farmers market in Echo Park, the most hipsterest part of LA. There were too many hip sqrls and I had to leave. I still feel weak after being sick a couple weeks ago but I think I will be fine for the fleche if I get a few more long rides in. Nice day out.

Today I sent a fax for only the second time since I bought my combo inkjet printer/fax/copy/scan machine 2-1/2 years ago. It's amazing that anyone even does this anymore, since it's so very slow and many people don't even have landline phone service anymore. Anyways, it saved me the trouble of having to mail the danged thing.
In other less pleasant news, yesterday I visited my urologist for a not very enjoyable fingering and poking. Now gotta wait for the results of another PSA test.

Today (last evening) I did a test run of my commute to work. 19.3 miles (round trip) in ~1:15:00 including a 4 minute rest at my destination. Went way quicker than I anticipated.

Osha has been cracking down on shops so everyone at work had to go get fitted for respirators, I had to go baby face for mine since beards aren't allowed. My lady friend is happy but I'm not.

Are you one of the guys on here that welds? I have thought about getting one ever since I started learning SMAW.

It's funny. When I worked as a brazer, I never had to wear a respirator (I did wear a particle mask, but still coughed up lots of black crap). Now I'm in healthcare I need to be fit tested for a respirator annually so I can work with TB patients.

Today I finally found the perfect storage location for my Bianchi Pista - with my wife's permission, of course.
