****ing consumers don't know **** and they buy specialized crap that sucks because it says specialized on it.

their bikes and goods SUCK unless they are the top tier products and even then, only somewhat competitive in the market.

happy belated Jandro.

QFMFT

I just stepped out of my comfort zone this time for some retro goodness. I bought my LOOK bottles from a non-specialized but giant (one of specialized's enemies) dealer however.
It is completely devoid of any specialized regalia besides the mold imprint on the bottom and of course being a purist bottle in essence.

Anyhow as for a bottle without a podium's valve, I just leave the nooze open/ un-recessed for the entire ride.

dunno, i dont have experience with anything else but im happy with the small ones i got last year at my lbs which happens to be a specialized dealer so i got another pair of the big bottles

but i did put a packet of koolaid fruit punch in one of them and it didnt taste like anything but water on the next refill so i guess that coating works

Today my wicked case of carpal tunnel is finally gone. I'm not sure how It happened, but it sucked.

i like a lot of specialized products... mainly frames.

i admittedly know nothing about their business practices however. that sounds kinda shady.

today i almost hit a deer. i was on the trail going to work and it broke brush about 5' in front of me. luckily it went right and i went left.

i was within arm's reach of it and could clearly smell it.

that makes my closest wildlife encounter yet. last month it was a young coyote running down the trail just ahead of me....

similar thing happened to me about a week ago

doe and fawn hangin out grazing on the side of the trail, fawn sees me and then so does mommy and they just kinda look, then they creep out onto the trail

i move to the other side of the path and at the last minute they decide to dash off into the brush in my direction, was like 2 feet away

all this at like 25mph on a descent. woof.

i like it when they just run with me on the side of the path and we race

today i built my king hubs to archetype with CX rays.

holy hell, nicest wheelset i've ever built by orders of magnitude.
that was after a lovely 32 miles and before a lovely nap in effort to hit the much needed reset button on my pituitary.

Today I finally got my Mercier built up to be my new commuter.

Its setup as single speed with front and rear brakes but I already want to go back to it being on the fixed side. Im gonna give the freewheel a chance for a few days.

Finished the work week with dirt. 23 miles, 3860 feet elevation, and a crash after I finished the dirt ride (curse you, sand. gets me every time). I will be sore tomorrow but it was worth it.

my older purist bottles didn't smell after i put nuun/gatorade in them, but my newer one does. sadness. the cap also doesn't seal against the bottle on this one so i pretty much just hate that one bottle because it spills gatorade all over my bikes.

if you have blue BB and headset, your seatpost clamp and skewers should be blue, too.

Today I harvested the cog from my russian, I can't help but feel like that was the first step into parting it out.

today i actually watched a whole stage of the tour

i think if i was riding in the tour id lose my **** on some of those fans, theyre all like yay cycling! yet they basically block the road.
im honestly surprised they dont have to stop for these people sometimes

im also surprised that in such a huge race they dont regulate these people more

Today I broke my valve stem as I was filling my tire with air.

I took this as a sign that I should probably drive to work.

^^^Yeah, it's ridiculous. Cavendish had urine thrown on him a few days ago.

Yeah, our line does that crap with us too. They have a list of "approved" lines to carry in conjunction with theirs and yet they demanded we quit carrying Cervelo after we picked them up. Cervelo's warranty process sucked anyway and we had several warranties in a small order.

1) disagree. this is one if those pace line forums maxims that just shouldn't be established in the first place. we are not all six figure leisure doping cyclists, and our bikes shouldn't have to look like theirs.

2) maybe I wasn't clear: my headset will be black like the hubs and nearly every other component, except for the upper cup which on a 44mm i7 inset is nearly invisible except for a line under the upper headset cap. that will match the bb water bottle cage and maybe the skewers. probably black skewers doe.
