Today I really hate my friend for moving into an area with this:

I've decided that closing then pulling a double the next day sucks regardless of the 50+ hours I'll be getting on my check.

Sigh i probably won't leave till around 1am

FYI the knee hurts like a MOFO.

Good deal! Bring on the pain! Think I'm going to go with this:

That's pretty rad. I have one that everyone sees as asks "what's it mean?"
I always answer "it means I thought it was a cool design and wanted it on me."

Haha, I get that too. It means I wanted this image on my body to confuse you.

I have been riding this for about 2 weeks now, but finally finished it yesterday. Its my Dirty Kanza 200 bike set up in training mode. For Almanzo and DK ill be running a Whiskey Fork with Industry Nine Ultralite Wheels. I went with Swift Industries bags so I can load up for all day rides out in the middle of no where.http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/...sa1cb1030.jpeg
Heres a detail of the powder
http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/...seb47606e.jpeg
Heres a bad picture of it almost fully loaded up in adventure mode

Incase you were curious about the bags

Pull one from another bike just to set bearing preload. Put it back when you're done.

You're welcome.

Why don't you borrow a top cap from one of your other bikes so that you can build and test ride it ? Also, once you've adjusted your headset and tightened the stem bolts, the top cap is not needed for the bike to be rideable, and it's just a cosmetic issue. That's what I'd do until I got another top cap.

there is an echo in here.

Did not know this.

I did plan on taking the top cap off my raleigh just for the sake of building. I wasn't thinking about a properly tightened stem holding everything in place.

Thanks for the tip.

On a side note, if I buy a frameset that says "comes with fsa zs3 headset" am I off-base to assume that it was going to come with a top cap?

It will probably not include the top cap or the star nut. You may also have to cut the fork to size.

This one was at least pre-assembled, which was actually a plus to me.
It's got the star nut, installed headset cups, and the fork is cut down a bit.

I'll just pick one up off ebay.

Nagrom_ 03-10-14 10:55 AM

I've never bought a headset that didn't come with a top cap or starnut/expanding nut.
That's kinda part of the headset.

Free pedals*!!!

*does not include axle/bearing assembly. inquire for details.

So you have never purchased a headset for a threaded fork?:)

bmontgomery87 03-10-14 11:04 AM

^That's kind of the way I feel.

I emailed the seller asking if maybe it just got left out of the box or something. I was trying to determine if I should just say "I'll buy one elsewhere" or if I should push the issue. I felt like I'd be receiving the whole package, not just part of the headset.

I disagree. I would expect a headset to include these parts. It might not include any spacers, however.

Exactly.

bmontgomery87 03-10-14 11:08 AM

Maybe the seller will refund me the amount it takes to purchase a top cap. We'll see how it goes.
