Today I started a new job, I will be one of the lead mechanics for a local program that provides adaptive bicycles to children with disabilities and also provides riding classes for children who can move up to 2 wheels.
Have also been asked to develop and build adaptive bicycles as the costs of the commercially made ones is more that what I would charge for a custom frame and fork and they are just not that complicated enough to warrant the cost. There was a 5 year old girl, and just a little bit of a thing, testing one of the recumbent trikes and her mom told me that she was never expected to live past 6 months and after she proved them wrong in that she has learning how to walk and talk which they said she would never do. She was pretty shy until I found out she wanted to marry Jeremy Wade, (the host of River Monsters) and I told her I would like to marry him too. She thought that was hilarious... and then she went for a solo ride on her new recumbent trike. Jeremy Wade better look out... this little girl seems to be the type that won't let anything stand in her way. Sometimes heroes come in little tiny packages and wear pink helmets. |

5.25 hr ride today, monster ride. I went over the hills and far away.
I missed some training time earlier this week due to a nasty staph infection (ewwww), so I went longer than I had planned today. Rest tomorrow, back on the horse Monday! |
Also I've decided to spend my insurance claim money on a powertap wheelset, probably leaced to Hed Belgium C2 rims. I've always wanted to give wide road rims a try.

Sixty Fiver good stuff man.
TMonk I am jealous, the weather here in NYC will not give way, just cold dank crap. Plus I dropped a knife on my foot so I can't even use my bike trainer. |
^
feel better haha. |

Today was relaxing. Not a cloud in the sky, warm, breezy, and mountain bikes. I napped under a small tree at the top, climbed up a huge rock formation and talked to a couple sqrls, and rode on home. I need to camp out instead head back into the city.
