find out what percentage you have on the front vs the rear with a book + scale

one of my bikes is more like 40/60 (85/110)[23s] and the other is 45/55 (45/75)[32s]

since i been going by that gizmo I've had no pinchers and everything is smoother and faster

Problem is that I'm a lot lighter than you, so your chart with 40/60 weight distribution and 23mm wide tires results in 61 psi for the front tire, which is simply too low. I'm running about 90 psi in the front and still get a very smooth ride, even on rough Texas chip seal roads. OTOH, I run only 70 psi in the front with 28mm tires. The last time I had a pinch flat, it was like 20 years ago with a 20mm front tire that I had inflated to 130 psi, so even at high pressures narrow low profile tires are vulnerable. Since then, the narrowest clincher I've been using is 23mm wide.

For what its worth, I think I would have flatted no matter how much air I had in the tire. The rock was large and sharp and shook the whole bike like fell in a pothole and ran over a log at the same time. I'm kind of surprised my wheels are still true.

I got one of these for $90 the other day. I'm excited. Should solve all the problems I had with my osprey pack, and it looks sweet.

I bought the biggest one they made back when I was messengering and it was awesome. Now I ride to my grown-up job with it and it's just the most ridiculous overkill. Definitely gonna keep it around for grocery runs though.

Get a new bag.
Move large one to travel duty, smaller one for daily duty.
My fitzroy was getting a little too bulky for daily.

Nice, I've been looking at their rover pack for something smaller than my MW Vandal. They're located not far from where I live so I've been planning on stopping in one day.

If you like your Vandal, take a look at the Sanction.

Today I woke up and immediately spilled a glass of water on my phone. In another news, I think I'm gonna get myself a MW Monty for XMas.

Right?

Totally used a torque wrench. It was torqued to 2.5Nm.

Scrodzilla 10-07-13 02:04 PM

Whatever.

I hardly ever use a torque wrench and have never broken anything.

seau grateau 10-07-13 02:06 PM

But can you install tubeless tires in under five days?
