I won't know until I ride it lol. Oh and the brake is functioning perfectly now.

I'll probably setup the rear tire tubeless tomorrow if I don't have work, and go for a ride.

Got cat called by some 45 ish year old lady today and then saw a fixie photo shoot, I wanted to get a photo of it and be real meta but I'm slow on the draw.

Dannihilator 10-04-13 08:24 PM

Finished the floor itself, just have 5 little pieces of trim to put on and will be completely finished in that phase.

Aww, kitties are so cool.

Double flatted two blocks from my house this morning. Walked the bike home and called it a day.

I was supposed to teach a bike repair & maintenance class today. Nobody has shown up :( Who wants to talk about bottom brackets and headsets anyway?

A sharp rock.

I've been experimenting with lower tire pressures...today I went with 100 in the front and 110 in the back (still unlikely to get a pinch flat unless you're me). I had met some friends about 5-6 miles away and we were doing a route that happened to go by my house again. So I was about 16 miles in for the day and cruising down a small hill, watching a guy walking his two shar-pei's and didn't see the golf ball sized rock in the middle of the bike lane. Got both wheels at about 25mph, pinch flat.

Throw in the staple I ran over tuesday night and I'm at 3 flats for the week.

Bought a new GoPro Hero3+ Silver. I was going to get the black but I didn't see too much of a difference between the two to justify the $100 price jump, I will use that money for extra batteries and mounts.

Today I took my first fixed ride. Was dropping another bike off at a shop for derailleur work and saw a f/f wheel that would slip right on an 80's Schwinn Traveler that's been sitting in my shed. 15 minutes wait with pleasant conversation while the cog and freewheel were attached and a new chain in hand and off to home. Off with the old wheel and derailleurs, on with the fixed and new chain, and got out on the road.

Normal 9 mile loop. WOW I'm surprised how much work it is with no resting, or maybe I should say how much coasting I normally do on that route. My whole body feels it! I'm looking forward to tomorrow.....

100 is low? are you using 18s or something? even on my 722 thats got 23s low for me would be like 70/80

but now that youve got 3 you should be good for a while

bowzette 10-05-13 07:35 PM

Today i did a 107 mile fg ride. Been training for it for six months.

Mumonkan 10-05-13 08:02 PM

Dannihilator 10-05-13 08:32 PM

Thumbs up.

Today I almost got hit by a car when trying to PR a segment(My fault for going into a corner too fast) but I got 6th overall on the segment, so it was worth it. It also made me realize why I enjoy riding brakeless.

I'm on 23's...don't be making fun of the chubby guy, haha. I was riding 110/120 for the longest time. 100/110 feels like butter compared to that, haha. Also noticed the front is flat again, the patch must not have held. Will be changing it again in the morning.

I spent 3 hours today changing the chainrings on my cannondale today. Stupid lockring on the spider what a biznatch to get off.

Also, that kayaking video is awesome! There's another video of that guy kayaking down a waterfall and drinking a beer at the same time. I was impressed.

Today I did a century ride with a friend, he's a strong Cat 3 racer and pulled me practically the whole first 40 miles. He'd pull for 10 minutes, I'd pull for one or two, and he'd jump right back in front. It took everything I had to stick on his wheel that long; he kept going that speed the whole time. I had to slow down and find people going more my speed as he rolled ahead to a crazy fast finish, but I still finished with my fastest ever time for a century by far. Pretty fun.

We tied for KOM on the start -> first rest stop segment which is kinda cool: http://www.strava.com/activities/87160635#1802425610

Ha, that tells me 84/130. Seems like an odd combo.

Gives me all sort of ridiculous low front pressures too, in the 60psi range.

For me it's about 61/96, which seems pretty ridiculous too. The chart I use gives me 88/98, which seems far more reasonable. I run 23mm front and 25mm on several of my bikes, which results in the same front and rear tire pressure of about 90 psi.

Mumonkan 10-06-13 09:31 AM

find out what percentage you have on the front vs the rear with a book + scale

one of my bikes is more like 40/60 (85/110)[23s] and the other is 45/55 (45/75)[32s]

since i been going by that gizmo ive had no pinchers and everything is smoother and faster
