Bikes: Not As Many As I'd Like
Today I almost ate some cement when I went over an ice patch. I guess now that my hometown has officially entered winter mode, what are some decent winter tires? Going to be used exclusively on the road (albeit, with snow and ice sometimes), for my daily commute and short trips.

Today we also came up with a great idea at work (restaurant). Reverse potluck. 4 or 5 of us collectively buy ingredients to make various meals, spend about 4 or 5 hours cooking one afternoon, portion everything out, take home and freeze for the month. Keeps a bunch of degenerate 30 somethings from eating dinners consisting of mixed nuts (which apparently occurred twice this week by two different employees).

Today (technically last night) I learned what happens when a freewheel fails (i.e. starts spinning freely in both directions), and as a result what you expect to be a mighty forward pedal stroke encounters no resistance. In a nutshell, you wind up off the pedals, running down the street while straddling the top tube, wondering exactly when you're going to fall and trying to ignore the fact that your somewhat sensitive male parts are repeatedly striking said top tube.
Fwiw, it's unpleasant.

No, I was on my beater mountain bike. Since it's geared and has big 'ol platform pedals, I don't have clips or straps on it. That may change now.
Ouch... that sucks, man. I'm lucky I was on flat ground. Aside from some bruising down there, I mostly suffered ego damage - there were a lot of cars around that saw me and I'm sure it looked hilarious.
ive had that, except on an FG IGH, i ended up pulling muscles in my leg and smashing my knee on my bars and my taint smashing down on my saddle hard while going down a pretty serious hill. i had to ted shred thru my fender and it melted a hole in it with my jacked up leg

Today I passed the test I was given for the job in San Diego. So now its up to the company if they want to give me an interview based on: psychological assessment, test scores, and job history. Hopefully I get an interview, and then they need to:

because I'm used to NYC $$.

Thanks man. I hope so too. I will always have a love hate relationship with New York. Its been my home for 30 years, going to be tough to adjust if I get the job, but I need to.

I had to run a damn mile to pit for a neutral wheel since I flatted before I even actually made it on the course. **** that place.
Went home and slept 14 hrs though.

It'll take you about 3.24 minutes to adjust to southern California. Then you'll wonder why you waited so long.
