Today I heard a spot on NPR "Why China has Fallen for Fixies"

http://www.theworld.org/2013/06/china-fixies/

Apparently Shanghai is the new Williamsburg

I just realised this, the handlebar clamp diameter on the bars for the 930(26.0) is bigger in diameter than the seat post on the dmr(25.4).

Today I moved in with my girlfriend to a new apartment. 4 bikes and one frame is proving difficult to store and access easily.

Today I had the day off and did almost nothing productive. *swish*

Got flown out to Minnesota today to teach a dance workshop on Saturday. From what I saw, it looked like a great city to ride in.

Back has been so fragged that I did very little save for going to my daughter's 9th grade graduation this evening... had a really wonderful time and one of the best dinners I have ever had.

Huffandstuff 06-07-13 01:44 AM

Did the pedalpalooza kick off ride today which was quite nice due to the high turnout but I have a bad feeling about this year, I saw redbull girls coming through and people walking around checking for beer.

I was just in MPLS this week for a conference. I was actually bummed my hotel was only 2 blocks from the conference hotel, because I wanted to try out their bike share! Totally would go back to visit and ride bieks.

Today I got tix to Matt and Kim and The Foals Lollapalooza aftershows (because screw actual Lolla but f- yes to the aftershows). Also my roommate is gone, gone, gone and I have the house to myself again and it is wonderful.

Got my new Apartment, I hate when $2400 per month for a 1bdrm is a good deal in Manhattan.

I've never had a mortgage payment that big on any house, I suspect I've never had a mortgage payment half that big on a house.

That's cause you live in the Backwoods of Ontario.

For the price of my 1400 sqft condo in SL, I could buy mansions elsewhere.
Location, location, location.

calv 06-07-13 02:00 PM

I have family in Naperville and Skokie, IL. The family that lives in Naperville have HUGE houses compared to my family's house in Oakland. It was always ridiculous when I thought about it.

seau grateau 06-07-13 02:06 PM

I was in a barbershop quartet in Skokey, IL.

Damn, dude. Is that how you spell it? I haven't been there since like, 98'.

Fixing yet another ****ing flat on the caad.

Measured the GP4ks on my Kilo, vs my caad, 23 wide rim vs 19 wide. They were a hair under 28mm wide on the caad, and about 23.5 on the kilo.
Cool beans.

SpeshulEd 06-07-13 02:23 PM

I doubt the big houses in the Naperville suburb are cheap by any means...but yeah, probably equivalent to living in a nice Chicago apartment.

Do you have GP4KS's or GP4K's? I read the GP4KS's were fairly puncture resistant, however, I'd have to disagree with them as I've gotten more flats with those than Hutchinson tires that were originally on the bike.

You sure you checked your rim and everything, man? The caad sounds like a flat magnet.

Except all my mortgages were held on properties in Vancouver, apparently the highest priced real estate in Canada. The change from paying out the Vancouver mortgage paid for the house here outright.

The S signifies "black" in German. Black GP4K's are the same as GP4KS's.
But yes, they're the S's.

These tires just aren't for me.

Yup, I've found the culprit each and every time. Glass, rocks, a thorn.

Otto374 06-07-13 03:07 PM

Drove to the machine shop to pick up some scooter flywheels and a few other parts.

What? Get out of town! I didn't know that. So then are the colored GP4K's the same as the GP4KS's but just a different color? I thought the 4S's were extra special.
