Today I (v2):
I never place a high initial bid in an auction, and wait until the last few seconds to snipe with whatever max amount I am will to pay. Usually that results in my winning the item for a lot less money than if I engage in a bidding war. It also means I won't get suckered by a shill.
Sniping doesn't really work now that there's a max bid function.
Unless of course you assume a shill bid you up then by all means refuse to pay.

It's raining ATL too, so today I put the road bars on the Bianchi.

The only thing I don't like on the chrome Pista is the chainring. My choice would be classic silver like on the IRD Defiant.

Otherwise, I think it looks great. Looks a lot like franswa's bike to me.

Well, i bit the bullet and went for a ride in the rain, or should I say drizzle. Been traveling a lot and will travel more so this is really my only chance.
TimothyH wins though, his time was much better spent. That Bianchi looks superb.

Thanks everyone, for the kind words. It rides nice now that it has been on a diet. I read where Nagrom had a bikes direct bike down to 17 lbs? That's sick (in a good way).
Franswa's bike has lots of nice bits and I borrowed some of his ideas. I think he has the same IRD Defiant crank you linked to. I liked his short reach/shallow drop Nitto bars and can't wait for the rain to end so that I can try it out. I've had my eye on the Tange Prestige fork for a while and saw that they come stock on the Rush when he posted his bike but that will have to wait.
My bike has the Sram levers but I did a logo delete. Not sure about paint adhesion though - I'm pretty confident that it won't last. eBay Dura Ace Br-7900 calipers pull the levers back really well. The stock FSA Tempo crank is really heavy and will most certainly be replaced, maybe with Dura Ace, but that's enough $$$ for now. I need a new hot water heater and the HOA sent me a letter about my fence. I hate the HOA.

Screw HoAs, I don't want to pay people to tell me what I can do with stuff I own.
Installed the new fork on the the cross bike and redid the brakes, donated a bunch of bike parts to the coop, took a beer break and now I'm heading back home to fix up my girls dads bike.

nice Bianchi @TimothyH. It's like my cdale SS, but prettier.

In other news, I just got back from a big one: 5.25hrs, 86miles, 2900kj. Don't feel so bad either, I thought I'd be more drained. Good.
Up next: eat all of the things.

Went to the Walmart tonight. It's what Southerners do when they are bored. Found a $99 "Fixie Thruster" in the bike rack, just my size...

Hardly anyone was in the store and so decided to take it for a test ride. Had to hold my camera with one hand and steer with the other...
Was a lot of fun and the two ladies working in the toy section didn't seem to mind so I headed out again. Wanted to dial it up to 400 watts and so left the camera in my pocket. I made it past the TV's and cellphones, around the video game section, past the cribs and strollers and then droped the hamer in the wide yogurt/milk aisle. Went pretty good even with flat tires but I couldn't get it to skid. Walmart bristles with security cameras and so I figured I was pressing my luck - headed back to sporting goods via the women's underwear section, racked the bike and no one in the store seemed to care.
Man that was fun! Laughed until I cried. Makes me want to buy a Go Pro.

Damn, I should have posted it in the ride pics thread!
I want to go back with a full kit.
