That might not be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of, but definitely top 5.

Tracked down and fixed a really irritating creak on my new to me road bike. After going over everything else that might creak or squeak, I pulled the rear wheel, reseated it in the frame and gave the skewer about a half turn more than I had been giving it. That half turn turned out to be the solution to a creaky bike. That said, I'm still on the fence with geared bikes.

I live in a very small town. There is a street that is very popular for trick-or-treaters. I went there with my wife to look at the kids in their costumes (even had a few dogs kitted out). Police had barricaded the whole street (no cars). It was nice that everyone could just walk down the middle of the street.

Why wouldn't you just walk with the kids? Isn't that part of the fun?

Did my first alleycat today. Ended up popping my chain and getting DFL, but I sure had a blast.

Today I learned that a few days ago, Jimmy John's changed their dress code and tattoo policy. This is great news for me. No more long sleeves.

Heading home Sunday afternoon. Just visiting my sister over in the Irving Park area. Just so happened that mass happened while I was here. Did it last November, same thing, visited for Thanksgiving and rode it for the first time. I approve of the fixed gear scene here. Too many guys riding brakeless though.

I made some small barriers and worked on some CX skills doing laps in my backyard. CX is hard.

If you can't be first place, just try to get more rad than anyone else, if you can't do that, just get drunk.

I find my technique for barriers is to just come into them at full speed, clip out and come off to your dominant side and just use the momentum to make you run fast or just try to bunnyhop the single barriers.

Small shop down on Milwaukee has a Felt TK2 hanging in the window. Can't remember the name of it, not The Bike Lane. Smaller almost boutique shop, been in there before and it is a pretty cool shop.

Yup that's the name, wonderful shop, most of the shops here are on the smaller side. My personal favorite in the area is Velodramatic, a few miles further down Milwaukee actually on Division and I believe Halsted. Almost exclusively fgss, and the owner is a really cool dude.

Dismounting/re-mounting was surprisingly easy to get the hang of. *pats self on back* While I know how to bunnyhop and used to be pretty darn good at it, I've decided to focus on basic fundamentals and possibly not finish DFL. That is unless the barriers are only 4" high.

No, it's not The Bike Lane. I know that shop, and while they sell Felt, this is not the same shop. This is farther southeast on Milwaukee towards downtown. Same side of the road, not sure where exactly. I think it is past the Chrome store. I cannot seem to find it even on Google. If you get the chance, go look for yourself. They are in the same building as a little cafe I believe, and I believe it is before you get to the highway.
