I don't think so. I mean, I'm open to correction but that's the way it was packaged and the way it is shown in the documentation. #8 in the diagram below, concave side up.

The concave side of the race mates with the cartridge bearing and seals against the inside of the lower cup nicely.

So I don't think so.

Nashbar headset cup press was $70 compared to the Park press @ >$150. One more item needs to arrive and then I tackle my first headset and install my new 3Rensho(ish) fork.

While at HD getting PVC you could have picked up some threaded rod and washers and made your self a headset press. I still have mine from 15 or so years ago, always worked great for me.

Just received a freewheel for the Langster. After re-dishing the wheel (1974 Campy HF hub) and mounting tires, will be ready to do inaugural ride on a SS.

Don't question the logic of 'Merica. You either spend money or move to Cuba with the rest of the filthy non-'Merican speaking comoonists ; )

I bought a few items today...
-Sugino Zen chainring
-19t cog (now I have 15-19t to choose from)
-Shimano lockring/chain whip
-Sugino 75 dustcaps/bolts
-Misc Park Tools
-Nitto bar ends (yes, gold! )

Think that's it for my bike for awhile now. May change the tape but that's all I can think of.

I always say the same thing. Now I am happy if I spend less than a couple of hundred per pay period on any of my bikes.

One of the reasons I started biking more was to save money so I've gone the better part of the year without buying anything for the bike, except maybe spare tubes . Although I did finally end up ordering some new tires and chain yesterday.

Sounds like you are posting in the wrong forum. Probably better posting in the Commuting or Utility forum.
