I dont think its about gearing but more about having balance and keeping a good speed. If you are thinking you can just go slow like any other hill it wont work, you'll tip over---You'll have to have certain momentum to maintain speed

VanceMac 03-23-07 09:44 AM

Yes, I've seen the results of "losing momentum": http://vmac.smugmug.com/gallery/445104#17909650

Can't do the big T ride tomorrow, I'm tied up in the AM, will do a solo ride in the afternoon,
so that means Fargo on Sunday!

Vance, Cathy, you guys should try to come, sounds like a nice ride/day with a stop at Phillipe's

Some of us are probably doing the Monte Nido ride Saturday. Probably won't go to Fargo, but the club has a ride going there from CSUN on Sunday.

I think I might do it. I just remember my knee blew out on that climb and it utterly KILLED me climbing that far.

I might do it anyways, should be fun.

This ride doesn't climb Big T, it goes up Angeles Crest to Upper Big T and down Big T. A good bit of climbing. I don't know if anyone in my group is doing it. I could be talked into it if the right people go.
