I'm back on the level 1 ride for now. I like how it goes right by my apartment so I can bail out if the knee gives me problems again.

Too bad I just bought a club jersey last year and they now change the design. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Bumping this to see if Shannon is lurking and to see what's up for Saturday the 30th.

There's a pretty decent number doing the Ventura-Casitas-SB loop. Pretty nice route when it gets hot inland. About 70 miles total, if I recall correctly.

Shprung 06-25-07 03:34 PM

Vance, where did you pick the ventura ride? In the club site, I can see level 3 & 4 ride name 'AGOURA CORRIDOR'. I porbably going to be at 8:00 in CSUN and do level 3 or 4. It will be nice for the family to see me again on Saturday... especially because the week after, again, I will be doing a full day event (a DM century)

ronjon10 06-25-07 03:36 PM

Props to everyone wearing the new jerseys. I saw those all over the place this weekend.

Save that for when it gets hot.
What about Angeles Crest? Bob says he is doing it again.

+1 and I thought they were nice, not fugly. :D

Shai... it's a renegade ride, one which I'm told is done a few times over the summer. I did it once with the club members back in March, and it's a pretty nice ride. Looking at my log, it was actually over 80 miles with an added loop around the scenic Hope Ranch section of SB.

The meeting place is the mission parking lot in Ventura (near Grant Memorial Park, right off the 101) for an 8:30 roll time. You should come. That is, if Your Doubleness can lower himself to a mere 80 mile ride. ;)

Sorry BJ, I had already committed to the SB ride. Though I am itching to get back up to AC... definitely my favorite destination.

When is it going to stop?
You of all people... I think your goal is to push me... it like a game. Week after week you destroy my plants. I will try harder this weekend and stick to a 50-60 mile ride with the club starting at CSun!

It's an O.K. ride, not a favorite, but a good choice when it's over 100 at home. Too much driving to make it a regular thing, though.

ovoleg 06-25-07 05:14 PM

If danno doesn't organize the SB ride, i'm coming out to the club ride on sat

When you live close to the ride start at CSUN it's no further than going to the San Gabriel's and it's a lot friendlier than the big hills and high elevations of the AC (good for us mere mortals).... and the Xanadu Bakery in Montecito has great baked goods!

If who I think is leading this ride is actually leading it, then mere mortals like me will have an easier time on AC.
I live in the east valley and it's about 25 miles to Red Box and about 60 to Ventura.

Hi all.
I had a great ride on Sunday, meeting everyone, breaking in my legs. I look forward to next weekend! I'm also trying to find out about tomorrow morning, Wednesday's ride.
See ya out there!

spintinkhead 06-26-07 11:42 AM

Lurking?

Hi John,

Yes! I'm "lurking"...ha. Had a great time meeting you all last Sunday. I'd love to ride tomorrow morning, Wednesday.

Wednesday ride leaves at 8:30 from Calabasas off of Mulholand. The ride start is in front of the B of A. Look on the SFVBC web site for location info.

ovoleg 06-26-07 12:16 PM

why is that the last 5+ rides have been going to Augora Hills/Thousand Oaks/Simi valley?

John was only joking. It is not a hammerfest, AT ALL. It is a normal CSUN type ride, just with a remote start. Very diverse group. Besides, YOU are the hammerhead these days.
