LOL. Your hug is waiting for you at the top of Latigo.

Did you beat them up the first hill, or to the finish?

Shprung 11-25-07 08:26 PM

Ovo, want your $5 or shell we double it with a ride that is more than 3 miles long and let keith know that you actually in a race while he is riding chating with me about yesterday 22mph avg simi ride of 60+ miles with no rest-stops...
Come to the "Tour De Francis" this coming Saturday. You will have so many KOM and small hills to race Keith on.

urbanknight 11-25-07 09:08 PM

I'd take a day off work to see Ovo and Keith in a hill repeats contest on Reseda.

Maybe you don't understand. This would be something like who can do the climb the most times in, say, 2 hours time.

See, now, "repeats" implies more than once. And there's the problem...

urbanknight 11-26-07 12:14 AM

I don't see a problem in repeating a climb. Do you, Oleg?

Yeah Ovo, come ride the Tour de Francis. Since I'm one of the three designated KOM riders, I'll happily
relinquish my spot to you, you can drop Keith and Vance on all of the 2 or 3 hundred little climbs of the day.
How about it?

urbanknight 11-28-07 07:37 PM

Anybody doing the Decker Descent this Saturday?

mkadam68 11-28-07 08:44 PM

Sorry...looks like AJ & I will be trying our hand at the Tour de Francis, it starting in our neck o' the woods, and all :D. AJ will turn back after a bit, while I continue farther on with some local friends/clubs.

VanceMac 11-28-07 08:49 PM

Also on TdF -- if it's dry.

mkadam68 11-28-07 09:16 PM

Oops...I better check the weather.

urbanknight 11-28-07 09:36 PM

weatherunderground.com (I'm fed up with weather.com) says it's supposed to rain Friday and early Sat morning, so we'll see as the time draws near if that rain will hold over into the day time.

Everybody seems to like this Tour de Francis thing. I should check that out. I know I saw a thread about it around here somewhere.

edit: I'm on a "toughen the @#$% up" mission, so I'll be riding rain or shine. I'll probably do a shorter ride if it's raining, though.

I'll sell you my entry!

mkadam68 11-28-07 09:51 PM

ooh...an auction. Can I get in on this too? :D

You're fed up w/weather.com too? I thought it was just me.

Eh, I don't think I'm up for a century yet (looked up the route), especially if there's climbing involved. Tempting, though. If I was that desperate, though, I'd just do the route myself and not use any SAG.

Too many times I have started a ride with full arm and leg warmers and a jacket because it said it would be in th 50s the whole time, only to find it in the mid 70's by mile 5. I guess it's better than leaving the jacket at home then freezing, but they really seem to underrate their temperatures.

mkadam68 11-28-07 10:14 PM

I'm not doing the century either (I think). I got the impression it's an out-n-back route. Probably wrong, though.

urbanknight 11-28-07 10:34 PM

You're probably correct. This is unverified, but I found this on a forum through a yahoo search.

The TDF is 100 miles with 10k+ climbing

urbanknight 11-28-07 11:06 PM

Yeah, maybe next year. I'm toughening up, but not tough yet :D

It is an out and back, and it's free to SFVBC members, although you were supposed to let them know you were coming by last weekend. I'm sure if you two, or three, want to come along, you will be more than welcome.

Cassave 11-29-07 10:06 AM

Bring your warm stuff to the TdF!!

Weather.com has a high of 47 for Saturday, starting temp at 31.
10% chance of precip. It should be dry and mother cold.

See you there.
