How are those results, Shai? Back riding soon, I hope?

Here the results: I am good!

When I am at rest (below 70HBps) I have ubnormal EKG (see attachment to the one that know to read this).
This is what made my original Dr concern. One of this pulse should not be there. They call it T-ware inverted and sometime such pulses can show in people that just had a minor heart attack that no one know about.
So the T-wave inverted is visible in my case but only in low HR.
The moment the heart start to work a bit harder the invert issue disappears.
Good and symmetrical work in up to 88% max (The test didn't go any higher than 162HBpm which is 88% of projected maximum HR of 184)
The Cardio Dr was very pleased and recommend for me to work my heart as hard as I can (include hours of being in 80+% ) while cycling and to see him in 2 years. Cool!
( He said that Lance have/had 32Bpm when rested so I have alot to work on...)

But, the Dr told me that I need to have with me a copy of the EKG in all time in case something happend and an EKG is taken. At that time they will think I just had a heart attack so with my copy they should know that this is just 'me'

Good news, man. Now start hammering!

thomson 03-05-08 08:59 PM

Very glad to hear the good news Shai!!

Shprung 03-05-08 10:16 PM

^ thanks.
SFVBC, so what for this Saturday? I assume that some in Solvang but many of the club members will not pay for a Saturday 100 miles... they are doing it almost every weekend and not even need to drive to the start.

Shai;

How come the EKG has someone elses' name printed on it, then scratched out
with your written in?

Very suspicious.

Shprung 03-06-08 11:48 AM

Good question. I will need to come back to you with my Dr answer because I saw it, was puzzeled for a sec. but then ignored it.
Maybe because I was in the room when this was printed and my name was written on that page.
Yet, this is the copy I now have with me so I hope it will not give me any problem in the future (if any one ever will need to look at it)
Steve, what route/ride are you doing this coming weekend?

Cassave 03-12-08 12:03 PM

So who's riding what this Saturday??

There's a MC trainer with people from the Santa Clarita Velo starting from Kanan and Agoura at 8am headed for Stunt on Mulholland They will make their way to Yerba after Stunt and I think coming back via Decker. I'm thinking of starting at the Commons and meeting them on the road.

FYI: re: Mureau Rd construction.
I just got off the phone with the assistant to the Calabasas Public Works Director/City Engineer and they now expect construction of the Mureau Rd bike lane to be completed by the end of June this year.

Do you mean carpooling to the ride start? Don't know of such, our club isn't affiliated with CSUN, we just meet there. You could show up and ask if anyone who might be coming from your area could help.

A lot of our members no longer frequent this forum, btw.

Diatad 06-11-08 01:47 PM

thanks for the reply. have they switched forums or is everyone getting busy on the bikes? i suppose i was thinking of either carpooling or doing a ride to the ride start, as its a good 15 miles for us eastsiders

Yeah, there is another forum, but a lot of us still read this one, too. If you've never ridden with our club, we have a wide variety of abilities in riders, from beginners to racers. We also have a web site with a schedule of rides, but some of the fast guys just show up and wing it. Some of the rec riders do remote starts, too. This Saturday some of us are doing the LA Wheelmen ride up Angeles Crest and down Hwy 39. If you like climbing you'll like this ride.

Anybody doing the Rose Bowl route this Saturday? Since my wife likes it so much when I get home early, I might ride to the start at 6am and peel off after the bakery to go back home.

bhop 07-17-08 06:36 PM

Does anybody know the best route to get to the Balboa Park area (Hayvenhurst/Ventura blvd) from either the North Hollywood Subway station or the Universal Subway station? Googlemaps says they're both about the same distance, but is one way more bike friendly?

My friend (non cyclist) asked "why don't you just go down ventura from universal?" but i've never been that way on a bike, and even in a car it seems pretty crazy with traffic and such. Googlemaps suggested Magnolia down to sepulveda from the NoHo station, but it looks like Burbank blvd, goes all the way to Hayvenhurst. Also a concern is the neighborhoods i'd have to ride through as i'd probably be coming home a little after dark, and i'm not really familiar with that area.

Should I just drive my car to my friend's place?..

Why not take the Orange Line Bike Path. It's slow but safe.
