cannondale's welds are nice looking due to post weld filing and heat treatment, which generally is bad form, however they use copious amounts of 6061 filler, allowing them to clean them up.

if you have a 4 bolt clamp stem, you can get away without a shim for 25.4 bars, but shims or beer cans work fine for 1 or 2 bolt ones.
