Not sure if Record (looked at it for 30 seconds and tossed it in the bin several weeks ago and haven't inspected since), and there might be issues with condition - but I will try to remember to check for you when I'm in today to grab some tubes...

Thank you. Mr. cyclotoine graciously sent me a lever.

Got down to cabling up the 84 High Sierra and discovered that I gave away my straddle cables to a buddy... when he was a buddy.

ISO 2 straddle cables for a set of Dia-Compe 980 canti brakes.they have the lead stoppers on both ends and are fairly long.

Have I will try and fill that need, just let me know.

Thanks all ! 3speedslow

**notice** found the straddle cables. Turns out, I had the darn things all along. Must have given away some other set.

ISO: Shimano BL-R400 left side brake lever in nice condition. These are the aero road brake lever that say only Shimano on the front levers in bold black.

Just decided to pull the trigger and found out longest steerer is 140mm. of course...

Yeah, I noticed that size options for threaded aren't there.

350mm steerer 1" threadless is potentially useful.

$20 1" threadless HS + $37 (shipped) fork on an old frame and suddenly I have use for the stash of 1" threadless stems.

I reckon I'll grab one.

Trade a 52cm Ironman frameset, hs/bb for a nice Brooks Professional in brown.

smontanaro 10-22-16 09:05 AM

For my Lipstick on a Pig project, I'm looking for a long reach center pull brake for the front (drum brake S-A on the rear). I thought a MAFAC Racer would work, but once I got the new front wheel built and slapped into place, I discovered it's not quite long enough (max 75mm reach, while it looks like i need 80mm). Too much to just file the slot. I believe a MAFAC Raid will work, but they can get a bit pricey. I specifically don't want a modern side pull (e.g., Tektro), or one of the many iterations of the ugly, cheapo Schwinn Approved/Weinmann/Dia-Compe side pulls which were standard issue on these bikes. I'm hoping for something understated, with a little more class. Something a bike nut would notice with a casual glance and think, "nice upgrade." :) I've always gotten rid of Weinmann Vainqueurs, but maybe they will be what I settle on.

I've got stuff to trade, including three or four MAFAC Racer calipers in various states of assembly/completion/condition.

Nitto bar trades?

Got an Albatross lying about? I have an excellent condition heat-treated Nitto moustache (26.0) that doesn't work for me. I'd like to try an Albatross. Kindly PM if you'd like to discuss, pics, etc. At this point in my life, I don't need more stuff, I just need different stuff. :)

Thanks!

Well, I'll have to eat my words. It appears the MAFAC caliper does work after all. I was kind of eyeballing things yesterday, but once I got everything snugged up and adjusted, it looks like the pads sit perfectly with the bolts all the way at the bottom of the slots.

Looking for a Simplex FD appropriate to a '73-'74 PX-10. The original Super Competition has suffered Delrin failure.

I've got a Suntour FD mounted right now (Compe V?) that is probably superior to the OEM, but I'm being a bit persnickety on the rebuild.

I have at least two homeless Super Competitions laying around and I also appear to be in your time zone. My want-list is enormous at the moment and spans several decades and several continents so I expect we can work something out.

Awesome. Let me know what you need either here or by PM and let's make a deal.

Cheers!

This is for a 1983-ish bike, as seen in this thread but mine was stripped and I'm coming up from just a frame and a crankset. The prior owner seems to have removed anything that didn't take special tools. Looking for...
 • 27.0 seat post - the original had flutes. Guessing it was SR and guessing the diameter from the frame being 024 not 022
 • seat post binder nut and bolt with the little key that goes in the slot in the frame
 • SR crank fixing bolts and dust caps
 • clamp on cable guide (this was likely Suntour, I can go under-shell and live without it)
 • clamp on RD cable stop (brand unknown & unimportant)
 • Barrel adjuster for a Suntour RD found - thanks Tom
 • Dust cap for a quill pedal - this is for the MKS Sylvan Stream mentioned below but it seems like a lot of pedals are copies of one another and might work.

Stuff for trade
 • MKS Sylvan Stream pedals - one dust cap missing
 • Schwinn J freewheel 5x14-34
 • An anatomic handlebar, black, was originally labeled Bianchi but I painted that over to put it on my Cannondale
 • Exage SGS RD
 • A Cannondale compact handlebar and threadless stem, as seen in the road bike for sale forum

I am looking for the screw and nut thing that would fix the derailleur claw I have to the dropout. Co-op was surprisingly devoid of this particular part.

No idea if the ones I have are large pulley - what's the pulley diameter you're looking for? I have an unused set.

I am trying to find one (or two) of these Dia Compe large pulley-style brake cable yoke to complete my '84 Miyata 610.

I am looking for this model specifically, as I know there are other options available (like the Herse ones from Compass, and Gran Compe ones from Velo Orange) but I really want this larger wheel ones as I find they work alot better than the smaller wheel ones.

I am too far from the city, and there is no used bicycle shops or co-ops around with stacks of parts bins to rummage through for hours in hopes of finding a little gem like this for a song. Help me Bike Forums!

I only have one and its in rough shape, but still works fine. I would be interested in just one or a pair, in used but usable (or better) condition, with OR without the cable fixing bolt and acorn nut (those are easy to find).

I have a good collection of small parts in my bin and I am also open to trades for something of equal value that can help you out like this little piece would help me out. Let me know!

WTS/WTT 1984 Trek 720 (21")

Hi all,
I am looking to sell or trade my 1984 Trek 720 in nearly mint condition. It is a 21". Sadly it is too small for me. I am looking for a commuting bike. Vintage Trek (hopefully a 720 or 520 in 22.5") or a newer Salsa, Surly, or similar. I am near Atlanta. PM me if you have something and are interested in trading or if you are interested in buying.

ISO
Interested in an 80mm Nitto Young or normal length (not the long one) Technomic stem for 25.4 Nitto 135 bars. This is the last piece for my Panasonic Mountain Cat drop bar conversion.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but I have already found a NOS pair of these.

I have a 90mm Nitto Young in need of a good polishing if that will do. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer but since the TT of this mountain bike is about a half inch or so longer than my road bikes and my road stems are 90mm I thought shortening the stem 10mm would be the best thing to do. I'm noticing that the 80mm are not out there in full abundance.

Are you sure? I have a saw, welder and donor frame. Take me 10 minutes top!

TimmyT 11-02-16 07:11 AM

Why weld when you can just use screws?

Seriously, sloar if you have something in the 60-62cm range that's equivalent, I'm willing to trade, not that I don't have enough frames already.
