Another welcome to renjin, and I'll second the notion that your reply was stand up, good on you for joining in here just to own up to the error. One thing about Doc/rccardr, he is meticulous in his cleaning and building, and above reproach in his honesty as well. You'll find this trait in almost everyone in the forum, from my experience.

I hope you'll stick around for general hanging out, please don't make it a one post wonder.
Wileyone, being adventurous is one thing, heresy is quite another. St, Tullio would be spinning in his grave if you were to blaspheme with the use of the dread Dura Ache'

Pisses me off that people will do that. I order the wrong parts all the time...I've NEVER tried to pin my mistake on the buyer. I just sigh at my own stupidity and resell it.

Thanks for the nice words, folks. Not the introduction I would have preferred, but always glad to join a thriving and good-hearted community.

A bit about myself-- lifelong Chicagoan, in the cycling industry since '91, road cycling was the first love but I'll still rip on the MTB on occasion, embrace all manner of bikes but love the mid 80's- mid 90's euro steel/parts, of course I own several bikes and am currently building a '95 Bianchi TSX Ultralight frame with a smattering of old (where I can) and new parts. I look forward to mining some of the knowledge here when necessary, but mostly interested in talking shop and sharing passions.

Cheers!

Heh, we thrive on this kinda stuff; welcome to the hive!

(Oh, and don't be surprised if someone brings this up in a future post to tease you little about it. I would totally do it. )

Welcome.
I chose 80s Europeans for the latest version of my vintage bikes.
Figured it's best to narrow the field a bit so the N+1 doesn't get out of hand too easily.

C&V restores my faith in the internet and humanity once again. Welcome RANjin! This is a good spot and a good respite from the nuttiness that generally goes on in the interwebs. And, please, post some pics of that Bianchi!
