From the second pic, you can see the Brooks label on the rear of that seat, so perhaps it's the real deal or do the knockoffs fake the Brooks badge, too? Weird thing to me is that the gear cable pulley wheel is on the wrong tube; it should be on the seat tube, not the top tube.

It's a genuine Brooks. Model B33. Looks to be a 1980's variant. See: http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/saddles/brooks-b33.html

The top-tube cable routing is probably just some mechanic's sheer stupidity - he probably saw a few Sports with the pulley at the top of the seat tube, assumed that was the "correct" way to mount it, and forgot to note that the pulley is supposed to be mounted to the top of the SEAT tube, not the rear of the TOP tube...

Anyone gone on for this? I am so so tempted but I haven't got the space/time at the moment. Shucks.

Has this Bianchi been mentioned?

Needs a lot of love and it's been posted 2x for 1-day auctions, which kinda sketches me out. Not my size, but seems like a decent price for a project bike.

A couple of $10 Raleighs ripe for the picking in Mass. If it were just a little closer or I needed another road bike I would be on the road...

I found it 2 days too late - and it was the right size.

Unfortunately someone beat me to the punch and contacted the seller before I could, so my only chance is that he doesn't like purple. :( Anyone know anything about Columbus TSX?

I had a hard time deciding where to post it actually:)

I figured that the $20g was to basically say "Price not set, make offers"

Ah. Whereas I read it as "Your reasonable offer's not anywhere near high enough!" ;)

That's mine, so I consider it a good find. Its not a highly disirable classic, but its a nice bike that rides very well. Some here will look down on it because it has a mild steel frame (which is double butted, btw), but the reality is that it still only weighs 26lbs which is about the same as many similar bikes with cro-mo and reynolds frames. Also, it is owned by a competent mechanic (me!), so it is well maintained and well taken care of, and could be ridden home today, even if your home is very far away :)

A nice 57cm Miyata 712, right in my hometown. Too big for me, though, and I try not to spend more than $20 for any one bike :D :

Nice looking bike which the seller claims is a Cinelli with full Dura Ace for $700 in Toronto. What do you guys think of this? From the photo it is hard to tell what type of bike it is plus it has been re-painted? How can a person know for sure that this is a Cinelli?

EIther way if it has cinelli lugs it's got to be a decent frame. Of course you will have to check it out yourself.

Custom 650B French-Style Touring Bike-MAXICAR Hubs

I wish I could afford it. I'd love to have one of his bikes in my collection. Besides, I think that French-style touring bikes are very cool. I'd level that rear rack, though.

Saw that in the FS forum. Good price, IMO, but too big for me.

This looks nice....

Pinarello in Denver

I'd be tempted to buy it if I did not already have one bike in Denver waiting for me to come back out there to ship it home.
