Are you looking for center pull or side pull? What do you have on the rear?

onetwentyeight 02-16-08 09:12 PM

looking for a 40 hole 700c silver box rim. used is okay, as long as its still in decent shape. ma2 is desirable, but similar will do!

Thanks!

It's going a fixed gear, and I'm only running a front brake. But to address my original post, it looks like I just don't know what I'm talking about. The problem is that the brake I have has a recessed bolt and the holes in my fork aren't big enough for it to fit into. Is there such thing as a long reach dual pivot brake that is not recessed? Or, what is involved in drilling the hole to make a newer brake bolt fit inside? I'd like to avoid doing that if possible.

Have one, but it's the G40 grey. 700c & 40 holes though.

Drilling the fork is very easy, but there are other work-arounds as well. In this, as in everything, Sheldon Brown had the answers.

Wow, I should've known better. After all the things I've learned there, I don't know why I didn't check that out before!

Option #3 worked like a charm, thanks! Now all that I need is for my track bolts to arrive and I'll be in business.

I just picked up a bike for the components, and the frame is too big for me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EOIBSA:US:1123 ... I can measure it in the next day or two if top tube length is an issue.

I have also arranged to buy a bike in Ohio that I am thinking of picking up in connection with a family visit, as yet to be arranged... perhaps within a couple of weeks. If the frame I have is something you can use, you can have it for a donation of whatever amount you choose to my LiveStrong ride. And depending on where you live, I can drop it off.

A little coincidence... A couple of years ago, I picked up another 62 cm frame... Corky. :)

This one isn't that level of bike, but I think it would be a good rider as it sits. I'll take pics along with measurements.

Excuse my ignorance.......but what size clamp? Bottom pull I assume? I have a HUGE box of changers that I really have no intention of using. I'll send you one for the price of shipping if I have one that will work for you.

I need to replace the crank arms and peddles on a 1980 Schwinn Traveller, with a square tapered bottom bracket. Somewhere along the line the originals got stripped. It originally had a double. I am not trying to match the original, just something functional. I am only going to run with the smaller ring, so ideally it will look good with a single ring. Also a matching chainring in 39 tooth or smaller.

Timmyquest,

Stop down to IC Bike Library on Saturday morning... we have lots of used derailleurs for cheap!

ricohman 02-20-08 06:23 PM

I am looking for a Shimano 600 rear hub 126mm, 36 hole.
This is the one marked "sealed" but the sealing is realing just and expanding plastic fitting on the nut,

WNG 02-21-08 02:38 AM

I am in need of a low cost new or used Shimano 7-spd HG Freehub body.
It could have the threaded splines or without. Just discovered the Exage freehub that came on my recent Cannondale M300 purchase, is destroyed. The outer shell wobbles loosely....never seen that before!
[RESOLVED. Thanks to Monogodo!]

Also need a good condition Suntour or Shimano stem shifter. Man, these are rare. I would like to run drop bars instead of flat bar on the Cannondale MTB. But I need a workable shifting solution. This old frame uses 1" quill stems.

Oh yes....one other thing.
A good Mavic Module 3 27x1" polished finish rim. Late 70s to early 80s era vintage. I used to have a set for my Normandy high flange hubs. But one got lost.

Wanted:

- Nitto Technomic (or similar) stem w/long quill, 8-9cm extension. To fit threaded 1" road fork.

- Nitto Noodle bars, 44cm width.

- Brooks B17 Special. Not too particular about the color.
