Ian May a well known Merseyside frame builder (on Merseyside at least) whom passed on at a young age.
The frame was offered to me by a neighbour who new I liked old racing bikes so I collected some period Campag parts and set about building it in a late 70s/ 80s style hope you like the result. ps that Brooks Professional has been with me a long time.

Primitive Don 06-08-12 10:07 PM

Late 80s World Sport step-through frame model, clean and cheap. Planned on using it as a donor bike for a tall friend, but he thought his wife would enjoy it as is. Just needed a seat binder bolt (stripped). Probably happened when the owner's husband put the replacement saddle into the seatpost the wrong way.

Scott, that is a cool bike. You should post a whole thread on it so more people see it.

Not really from the dump, just "throw away" priced ;)

Amesja 06-09-12 01:37 PM

I threw away a half-dozen of those last week. Total garbage. The things are dime-a-dozen. Not worth the effort to lace up.

My wife picked up this one at a garage sale Friday. 27 inch frame size. The biggest bike I have ever had. And it needs a lot of work.

When she told me it was a 27 inch bike, I ass-u-me'd that it was confusion on the seller's part, mixing up wheel size with frame size..

Overall, paint looks pretty good!

Imagine reaching down to shift gears.

Got to love that brake cable routing... As if the bike is not tall enough, roll those bars even higher.

It looks like the PX-10 when I found it. What possesses people when they go and do something like that with the bars!

Amesja 06-10-12 06:00 PM

Love the "bum bars" configuration.

Chris_in_Miami 06-10-12 07:25 PM

So that's what a real 27" frame looks like, wow!

Yeah, I read way too much CL and when I hear someone say they have a 27" frame I always think...ROIT!

That thing is for Andre the Giant if he were still alive. If ever I saw a candidate for a second, lower, top tube this would be it.

Go.

That bike, with that bar configuration was definitely used as a 'beer hauler' from 7-11.

My newest member of the family. It rides great!! I love it, but it is to tall for me. I may have to sell this beauty in hopes I find one my size

Sweet. You should post it in the "Frame doesn't fit pass-around game" thread, perhaps a forum member will have something nice in your size to trade.

Unknown to Me Peugeot

I highly questioned if I should have bought this Peugoet, but now I'm pleased I did. If I was keeping it, I would have selected different colors. I hope its new owner will appreciate the colors!

you guys are all so lucky.
I have had only one great "find" this year- a Nishiki hybred 622- needed a seat and a chain and adjustments.-value 250€

currently I keep pulling TREK aluminum framed MTB's out of the pile and dang I hate MTB's
always the shifters are messed up and rusty cables.
got 3 of them in the yard and I wish I could trade them all for one decent project road bike!

Sixty Fiver 06-12-12 11:29 PM

A friend gave me a Velosport touring frame in my size... is double butted Tange and has a Stag's head rear d and 600 cantis attached to the frame.

Think I have enough spare bits to make it quite presentable and can even match up the rear d with it's front mate.
