The woman I bought the tandem from got it from a neighbor a couple years ago. She said she just wanted to get back what she had into it which was $75. I checked CL just before I went to bed and the ad had just been posted so I texted her that I would take it. I went to CL the next morning to see if I could figure out what brand/model it was because it wasn't stated in the ad but the ad was gone. She said she had at least 50 people contact her so she pulled the ad. Right place at the right time.

I've been looking for a cheap winter bike. Snagged this up yesterday for a deal.

Nice bike for winter, awesome looking backrack. Who is the manufacture, please.^^^^

Thanks! Not aware of them. It looks very stylish. Adjustability is a great feature.

Picked this up for 100 earlier this week. Here it is with new tape and tires.

That tape looks great on that bike. Just enough contrast to make it stand out.

I really hate finding bikes that's not my size. I really love this style and color of treks. It cleaned up really nice and I really tried to stretch out my 5'9" body, it's just to big.

I KIND of saved this one from the dump. It was a paintless frame in a pile of parts at the local co-op. I spotted the fork across the room in a fork bin and connected the two. I'd had a less nice Miele go through my hands a couple of years earlier, so I know something about them. It turned out to be a full Columbus SLX frameset. No rack brazes. I can't tell you how great this bike rides. This bike had to have been top of the line. Miele info is very hard to scrape together, but I think this model may have been a Miele Equipe. The frame was in perfect condition. The original paint just fell off, so I carefully rattle canned it and bought some Miele decals. My intention was that it would be a rider, so I didn't want to spend money on a paint job that would get marred up. It's pretty much all Shimano 600 "line lettering", 6 speed indexed. I'm really proud of this bike as you can tell by how much I want to blab about it! I have maybe $60 in this paint, from the decals and spray paint. All the parts I got by buying bikes and reselling what I didn't use to break even.

That Black Lightning is awesome!
I wish people in my area would go for a low price when they don't know what they have. People out here want 5x more for things because they don't know what they have haha |

In my area they go on line to E-Bay and charge accordingly, problem is they look at a mint or near mint condition bike and think they can sell their beat up uncleaned bike for that same money. Unfortunately, due to E-Bay, finding good deals on bikes, at least where I live, is a thing in the past 99.999 percent of the time. I still look just in case but I haven't found anything worth looking at for a couple of years.

Not exactly a "screamin good deal" but a fair price paid.
It was what I wanted and in my frame size. The one I could never afford. Will be my entry back into road cycling. I'm a newbie here. Friends call me Red. Look forward to meeting and visiting with you all. Hope I've found a home here. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=481311 |

My $25 Motobecane Grand Record. New Panaracer Paselas and Universal brake hoods have been added since this photo was taken. Very nice ride!
