De Rosa "Halfords" road frameset? It's advertised as a Halfords and has that stamped at the seatstay braze-ons, but is otherwise marked as De Rosa...can anyone shed some light on that?

It's been listing in ATL for at least 5-6 weeks now. It's a Halfords frame, Halfords is a big shop with storefronts all over the UK that's been selling bikes for decades. Not sure who actually makes their frames, but you can clearly see the logo in the seat stay caps. Someone badged it with De Rosa stickers. Looks like a nice frame and all, but asking price is more than double what I'd pay for it.

- 17 in titanium frame
- NOS Suntour XC pro canti brakes
- Suntour XC cranks (175)
- Shimano 8spd XT rear derailleur, XTR front derailleur
- Mavic 317 wheels (26in), XTR hubs
- Bear trap pedals
- Syncros seatpost
- Custom Nivacrom fork, 1in treadless
- Chris King 1in headset. New bearings, installed by Chris King.
Currently the bike is set up with mustache bars (One Off), a Ritchie Pro stem, Cane Creek road levers, and Dura Ace 8spd bar end shifters. I also have, and am selling as part of this bike:
- Original Ritchey Logic fork (threaded). Includes Chris King lock nut for headset
- Titec titanium flat bar
- Salsa 1in quill stem
- NOS XC Pro levers
- Pauls Thumbies to convert bar end into thumb shifters
Basically, you can keep this bike set up for commuting/touring/rando or set it up as a classic rigid mountain bike -- you'll have all the components to do both.
This is frame number 2436. Best as I can tell, this frame was built in the late 80's. It's in great shape overall. Wheels have very low miles.

there is misinformation that the look frames were litespeed built - as far as I can tell, someone said that once on the internet and it caught on. I am pretty sure they were made in Spain by a company that no longer exists. as it goes.
but I hear you, id not pay 1900 for one since a Merlin is probably way better! and I prefer the kg282 with the matte finish... but finding one is like.. forget about it.
