I'm not into mountain bikes at all, but this caught my eye:

Look at that front suspension:

Ouch. Hit a big enough bump, the lower head tube hits the tire, the front wheel locks up ==> face plant.

Seriously strange design. I wonder if that top bracket would bottom out on the underside of the stem before the wheel bottoms out.on the head tube. Or is that bracket anchored to the stem? Either way I ain’t riding that bike on a trail.

1983 Trek 720 - $300 (Natick)

Serial # 107713

23" frame... A few small scratches on fork and frame but overall in really great shape. No brakes or rear derailleur. Mavic wheels are true. Suntour shifters and front derailleur. Sakae cranks. Bernard Hinault seat.

I bought 12 years ago as is with good intentions to complete build, but never executed. Has been hanging in my basement since.

Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks for looking.

Want old trials bike so bad....

Also that Girvin linkage fork looks like an older one, they were all elastomer. That is probably it with the rubber/elastomer bumbers rotted/melted away to nothing. It does look like the linkage has bits of old elastomer all over it.

Pretty unique frame here.

RARE Antique 1890s Wood Frame Bicycle Brass Lugs Skip Tooth Sprocket * Prototype $2995

I think the wood looks old, but judging from the rust, I have to wonder if the frame has been restored, maybe 30 years ago or so.

It is also possible that it is a fake/repro.

But Why?

NICE gravel or commuter 631 steel - $100 (greensboro)

"Take advantage of my moving out of state.....very cool bike here
59cm jamis nova cyclocross bike in 631 steel repainted and rebadged as a peugeot....cause I love brown.
Frame treated 1x per year with boeshield for rust prevention....but I don't ride in the wet so???? probably treated for life...NO RUST INSIDE OR OUT!

But all new parts and over 400 bucks spent refurbing....a really good deal if you know....
has some dirt and dust from test ride....but mostly new...see following....

39t new salsa chainring with wolftooth chainring bolts
11-36 new 9 speed rear sram casette
used but sweet 105 shimano rear derailleur
used but no worries tiagra crankset with NEW shimano bb52 bottom bracket
Tiagra brifter right/rear
Tektro brake lever left/front...new
Tektro high end cyclocross brakeset with propper hangers and kool stop salmon pads....all brand new
NEW sun cr18 wheelset 700c/29er...these are 29er spec so a bit wider for tires used...
NEW surley knard 41mm front and NEW panaracer comet 36mm rear
slightly used but very comfy madison (spoon) saddle
breezer seatpost
axiom rear rack....sun front rack

NEW 9 speed kmc chain
And maybe the best part....??? soma junebug drop bars....these things are so good I use them on all my bikes.
New headset/cables/etc....
A double ding on top tube has NO effect on strength/integrity as I have put my fat butt on this bike for 8 years down screaming hardpack/gravel/asphalt with no worries.

This was built up for my commuter needs but am leaving to a place where a bike would be hard to justify.

Looky here....I've been riding since '84 mtb and touring....this is a cool bike....GREAT steel feel, lightweight and a price that you won't find anywhere else....want it to go to a good home/true rider....a killer deal.

NO pedals but I can provide a flat or spd shimano pedal for testing...thanks.

AM 6' shy...fits perfect....though cx charts would state this frame size is for 6-6.4""

We have some beautiful skyscrapers currently listed in Portland here:

A gorgeous blue 1976 Schwinn Paramount P15-9 - 66cm / 26" CTT - $1495

And this 65cm (CTC) 1970's Bottecchia Giro d'Italia used to be on CL as a frameset a few years back, and I was in talks with the seller (who had it painted in that blue) before he sold it to, presumably, the current owner who built it up very nicely (before I could get down there that weekend). The frame and fork were offered at either $250 or $350 after paint and decals. Killer deal.

Raleigh 653 Race 22.5" - $350 (Livermore)

"Raleigh 653 Race bike. Looking for $350 USD obo

The bike was my race bike up until 1998 and has been barely used since. I won a few races on this bike with its last win in 1998 at a criterium in Fremont. The frame was repaired under warranty about 25 years ago by Raleigh when a crack appeared on the non drive side chain stay (a common problem at the time).

Condition is pretty much as you would expect for a bike nearly 30 years old. Quite a few minor scratches but nothing major. I think it is good for the price. Hasn't been ridden on the road for over 15 years but I have taken it for a few Coffee shop rides and it rides really nice.

For this price it isnt really worth shipping so looking for a local pickup

Frame: Reynolds 653
Brakes : Shimano 600
Chainset : Shimano Sante - Got rid of horrible Bio Pace Rings
Rear Mech : Shimano 600
Front Mech : Dura Ace
Seatpost: Campagnolo
Saddle : Flite Titanium
Bars/Stem : Cinelli 65, Cineli 1R
Rims : Mavic Open 4 CD
Hubs : Mavic
Freewheel : Dura Ace
Pedals : Shimano SPD SL or Crank Brothers up to the buyer which you would prefer.
Tires : Recent

Set of Sprints thrown in too. Ridden a few times recently for Nostalgia. Includes NOS Ultegra brake levers for Eroica.
