I just did a Google image search for "wool cycling jersey," did the type and "CV" lockup in Illustrator and chopped them onto the jersey pic.
I'd imagine the vendor will have mechanical templates so we can make sure the final design is correctly built, sized and positioned.

On the supplier front, my club has done two orders for embroidered wool jerseys. THe first was with Portland Cyclewear, and there were a lot of complaints about quality and shrinkage. The second was with Woolistic, and though I haven't heard any other complaints, I would NEVER buy another jersey from them. It's by far the WORST wool jersey I've ever owned. The fabric breathes about as well as saran wrap, it stretches out of shape if you look at it funny, and after two seasons of light use is pilled almost beyond recognition. IIRC, it's also Chinese, regardless of Woolistic's touting of their Swiss origins. My Kucharik, Santini, RG Sport,Smartwool, Canari and no-name Colombian jerseys are all superior in every respect. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give Woolistic a -1.

I can't, but what are the alternatives? Can anyone provide a list of custom wool jersey suppliers?

That image will add a significant cost to the individual price.
If we stick with text, in any of the supplied fonts, cost could be less than $60 shipped each.
Using a logo instead of text seems aimless to me as C&V doesn't have a logo.
I admit seeing the text for intel or nike would look out of place but just the text "classic and vintage" will look at home on a wool jersey.

You know....
I'm sure it's a little late in the game, but has anyone looked into Earth Wind Rider to see what their pricing/minimums are? I've got 3 of their products and, while they are starting to look a bit tattered, I've pretty much lived in them for the last 3 to 4 years from August till June.

What are the "supplied" fonts?
What is significant pertaining to the cost?
What budget are we trying to stay within?
Why does a logo up the price?
Can you post information sheets for the companies so we can all be on the same page?
If C&V doesn't have a logo, what better time to create a de facto logo?
I went to a couple of jersey sites last night and the two manufacturers that I saw had two very different philosophies. One was tending toward full custom, one was about giving them a phrase and letting them put it on (iron-on?) a shirt. Before we get too deep into the process, we need to decide which way to go. That will probably have an impact on how many will bite. Remember a graphic is always more interesting to look at than text.
My vote is to go the way of the logotype, even if it is more expensive.

I'm liking "L", with the under_swoop/loop straight along the bottom of the text. It seems to move across the page for me, like a bike rolling along...

Thanks for the inspiration Robofunc. This is one based on his "Type A" from his thumbnail post. It would be a large logo on the chest but could very easily be a crest or shoulder logo I used the same color scheme from earlier, but that can change as needed. Enjoy!

The one I got from Portland Cyclewear has a single pocket with a brass zipper.

I just checked on the Portland Cyclewear site about the logo. At the minimum order the "logo fee" would add $5 per jersey. I don't think that's unreasonable. It's a one time cost, so the more units, the less it will cost per unit. It's an expense that is well worth the money.

I corrected my previous post about the PCW zipper. It is nylon. I guess I just visualize brass when I reach behind my back to close or open it?

This brings up a good point. What's the deadline for submissions? Tonight? Sunday night? Wednesday night? Wednesday gives a full week for design submissions.
We should do a poll about the designs first, then another one for color schemes.
