I got bored here in Yokota, Japan awaiting my flight (which was delayed another day), so I picked this up a couple days ago from a small hobby shop in Fussa. Pretty well detailed (as is usual) Tamiya 1/20th scale replica of the 1979 Lotus 79.

Nice! Lotus+Martini racing colors=awesome. I recently uncovered a stash of yet un-build Revell kits in my parents' shed, must have been there for a while, so now I think I got the bug again... just opening the box and flipping through the instruction sheets made me so happy. Now I just have to get some glue and paint

I'm actually building this as Andretti's 1978 WC winning car - will paint it black and find an aftermarket set of JPS decals, too. I'll be finishing it up on rainy days on DG

Always liked the JPS livery myself, D. Dude,....as you know. The '79 is one of the most beautiful F 1 cars ever built. But I'm kind of partial to the 78 too. Built this about 30 years ago.

Absolutely!

I wish I was better at uploading pics on the road.

We will be in Prague, before we head off to Bayern, Croatia, Bosnia, Austria, Northern Italy and Slovenia.

We are meeting our boys later today in Munich!

In the meantime, we have many of my wife's relatives watching our house back home.

They said they are enjoying the bicycles!

WOW, Grady. That's one amazing road trip. Can't wait to see some of your pics. Will you be exploring whether or not one can still fly fish for trout in the old "Yugoslavia"?

Why yes I will.

We will be in Bosnia for a short amount of time visiting Windhorst, the town my MIL was born in before WWII.

Apparently they fished for Forelle in a nearby river, but I don't know of the current possibilities.

Doesn't hurt to ask!

I will definitely be hosting a morning long sport fishing trip for the boys while we are staying in Trogir, an island near Split, Croatia.

This is on the Dalmation coast, across the Adriatic from Italy.

Lovely car, I would love to build some more model cars, I've built a Ferrari F1/89 and a Williams FW12C but the paint etc. is just to expensive (Well it is in Scotland at least). I really want to build a Jordan 191, best looking F1 car in my opinion.

Just wrenching in the garage, cleaning and a light overhaul for a friend. Used to be his wife's bike, but she has not ridden it in close to 20 years...so it needs a little work. His daughter gets the 1990 Giant Kronos, dbl butt CroMo mains, Exage drive train. Seems to be pretty decent. Going through all the bearings, new tires, tubes, cables....the usual suspects.

That is a beautiful car, Aidan. Who is that at the wheel? Andrea de Crasheris?

I was fond of the Benetton car too, when Berger was driving it. Great paint job.
