Here's mine (taken a couple of months ago):

My fork didn't match the rest of the bike so I covered it with the stuff then put on more decorations on the top tube and seat stays. I use cinelli reflective bar tape.

That's rather nice. It's not really "stealth" per say yet it fits in well with the typical panels found on certain frames, especially with the black trim on the ends. I do, however, (broken record time) suggest that you use red tape in the rear of your bike. Especially since N.S. mandates a "a reflex mirror or lamp on the rear exhibiting a red light". It might be nit picking but CYA.

I have to say I like the reflective bar tape. I may use that (in black) on the upcoming road build

I like my Shwalbe Marathons -- there's reflective piping all along both sides of the sidewalls.

I just ordered me a Schwalbe (did I spell that correctly?) tire for my bike with the reflective sidewall.

SO EXCITED.

I could only afford one for now (rear tire) but man, I can't wait to get it.

I wish Sweetskinz made tires in my size, they are so hilariously garish I would totally buy them.

I have reflective tape all over the bike. And helmet. And my bag. I also have reflective patches on my bag... but then again, I don't mind looking like a dork.

But thanks for the good ideas... you guys are a great source of information.

You don't have to look quite like a dork. I was most intrigued by this shrug I saw this woman wearing on a bike ride a couple of weeks ago. It was a fashionable style, hand-knitted, but made with ANSI orange yarn. I was thinking about some of that silvery reflective taps sewn on in key places would be great, too. Still contemplating this, but I just might try it, as I was thinking a shrug would be nice to use on chilly mornings anyways.

At the site https://www.gallsgraphicsuperstore.com/ how come black or silver taping isn't listed as one of the colors?

Seems to me like that's listed here: https://galls-graphics-store.stores.y...scotstrip.html

Having said that, you can get piping here on eBay: https://myworld.ebay.com/saint-shopper
I can also recommend this guy for sheets of reflective material - he's very responsive and friendly. If he doesn't have the combination/sizes you want, try emailing him: https://myworld.ebay.com/doublewow

There is no true silver, but the white comes closest, and still blends ok

So is that what most people mean? I read people supposedly use "silver" on the tire rims so it blends in with it.

Look my pictures in the first post of this thread. That's the black, red and white tapes in action.

I'm curious to know why you're using a travel agent with MTB levers and V-brakes.
I use TA's because I use road levers, and V-brakes.

Bump

Not stealth in the sense of most of these, but maybe stealth enough some of the people unwilling to tape their rims/paint could use it. Won't work great on all types or with saddle bags/trunks), but I found my saddle hardware to make a great out-of-the-way and stealthy, yet effective, place for some silver tape.

My current set-up, sans lights, shoes and trunk:

here's my old bike:

i didn't want to put tape on the frame, so i put it on the accessories and removable parts: fenders, bottle cage, rack stays, pump, cranks. it's all black tape, except for the extra-bright stuff on the pump. the extra-bright stuff is DOT tape. the tires are schwalbe marathons with that reflex sidewall. the bag has sewn-in cloth reflective tape.

i got 3 or 4 sheets of black reflective tape (with free DOT tape samples) from ebay for under $15. it's 3m removable black retro-reflective tape.

i dont have "stealth" and "bright" photos other than these:

i havent done anything really special to my new bike...yet. we're gonna keep the accessories under control with this one though.

You think you have avoided those silly labels with your efforts, eh? OK, if you think so.

Me, I don't need no stinkin' reflecting tape, steath or otherwise, though I do have convential reflectors on my pedals and spokes. I don't give a poo what know-nothings and smugsters think of my bicycling gear's appearance, day or night, as long as I get the proper respect, as evidenced by the actions of other vehicle operators on the road.

While the bike looks great, you've got a legal issue.

A lamp emitting a red light visible from a distance of five hundred feet to the rear may be used in addition to the red reflector.
What you do is up to you, but I'd hate for anyone to get a ticket (or get screwed on a lawsuit) due to a technicality like this.

Please folks, check your laws pertaining to anything you see in this thread.

All the remaining states require a rear reflector, and specify that a rear lamp may be used in addition to, or in some states, instead of, the rear reflector. All specify that the reflector must be red, except South Dakota, which says, “red or yellow.” All but two states specify a minimum visibility distance for rear reflectors ranging from 600 to 200 feet (see Table 1). In many states the visibility requirement is less for reflectors (300 feet) than for the optional rear light (500 feet). Three states also specify a minimum reflector size (see also Table 1). Washington says that light emitting diodes (LEDs) may be used instead of the optional rear lamp. Wisconsin says that the optional rear light may be “red or flashing amber.”

I've got plenty of people who like and utilize the concept. I don't require, nor desire, your approval. Thank you and good day.

In addition to the stealth Scotchlite, I run dual PB Superflash lights, a reflector clipped to either my trunk/seatbag/jersey pocket, an L&M solo 13W halogen, and a Petzl Tikka 3LED lamp on my helmet.

Well that's cool. I know lots of folks (none of whom I would choose to emulate) who use all sorts of special code words to insult and feel superior over others. Some "concept" words are are so well known that just using the first letter lets others know more about the joker using it than the target of their derision. Carry on, Jack!

With flash, no backpack or triangle. Wheel tape is silver, though I actually like how it looks during the day for some reason.

I kinda figured you'd be one to have other stuff going on My comments were mainly aimed at helping others reading the thread.

Since when do I have to result to "special code words"? In regards to the Stealth reflectors, I figured more people would use it (which is a good thing) if they knew about other options that blend into the look of their bikes better.

Ahhh now I see. Unfortunately using the saddle clamp wouldn't really work for me as I typically have a saddle bag there.

Personally I would have gone with black on the black rims, but that's me
Have you though about adding some blue to the frame?
