Once there I lift a few days a week.
Shave/shower.

4:30am wake up, shower (or if I showered the night before instead of collapsing into bed, I skip this part and sleep in)
5:00am check email, weather, bikeforums (LOL) etc. Dress accordingly.
5:15am cook food for breakfast & packed lunch, eat
5:45am pack bag, run wildly around trying to find everything I need
6:00am get out of house, only to remember something and run back in to find it
6:05am *finally* get out of the house, hop on bike and ride to bus stop (2.5mi away)
6:20-30ish get on bus, depending on whether bus is late or not. Make up for lost sleep/primping time on bus.
8:00am get on subway
8:30am get off subway, start riding to school
9:00-ish get to school and run up stairs if late or drop by restroom to primp if early.
It's a 40mi commute, 12 on bike and the rest by public transportation.

5:50 - 6:00 cat alarm
6:15 regular alarm, then get stuff together for ride in (pack bag, lunch & dress - everything's usually ready to go the night before otherwise I tend to forget things like a shirt for work)
6:40 leave house
7:30 arrive work (8 mile commute)
7:50-8:00 arrive at desk (shower/locker room at work & have b-fast at desk)
Reverse this order starting at 4:00 and add 15 minutes to commute home (traffic light differences & uphill ride).

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)
Pack Work clothes, lunch and toiletries the night before (I'm white collar, sometimes suit-and-tie)
Up at 5:30, into gear and out the door by 5:45
12.5 mile ride to the Gym, shower, shave, dress for work
.25 mile ride to the office (band around chainside pantsleg)
Change into dress shoes in office
Working by 7:00
Interestingly enough, when I do have to drive the elapsed time from "get up" to "start work" is the same within 5 minutes either way.

Most of my team is in California or Arizona and they don't start till 9PST which is 10 my time. It used to be we could work as much as we want from home but the company changed that policy and only one telecommute a week is aloud!
So what I do I log in to my corporate network at 6:30 or 7:00, do some work and then drive out at 7:45 and back at 8:30. Commuting and driving???? -- I drive my kids to a special dual/multi language school (10 miles each way). Wife picks them up. I bike up during my lunch time and come back 6-6:30. I sleep at 1 AM. During telecommute day/s -- I do an 18 mile loop in the hour of lunch time.

6:00 - alarm. I jump out of bed on the 1st or 2nd beep
6:07 - out the door. Clothes are laid out night before. all i do is brush my teeth & throw on the clothes.
I fail to comprehend you folks who dilly-dally around the house for an hour or more before leaving. I'd rather sleep more and wake late as possible!!

My winter schedule looks like this every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:
From mid-April until October, depending on ice and snow conditions, I usually switch to the following schedule:
- Alarm goes off at 4:15 AM, where I rush around, grab a fast and small breakfast, and ride 3 miles to the gym.
- Fully suited up and on the spin-bike class bike by 5 AM, I spend the next 2 hours doing a spin-class with 10-20 of the "regulars" that also dig spin class in the winter.
- After a fast shower, I ride 2 miles to work. I usually end up at my desk about 7:45 AM.
From mid-April until October, depending on ice and snow conditions, I usually switch to the following schedule:
- Wake up at 4 AM, eat, load up the bike with my work clothes, etc.
- Try to leave the driveway by 4:40 AM, and ride a 40-60 mile route. I tend to alternate between rolling hills, prairie, and local foothill mountain roads.
- Get to work at 7:15-8:00 AM, and take a shower (work on college campus, and showers are available).
- Start work by 8:15-8:30 AM, staying late as needed to work a full shift.

wow, some early risers here!
my schedule:
wake up 8:30-9
watch cnn for a little while, drink coffee, shower
roll out at about 10 for the 30 km ride into work
arrive at about 11:30
i find that rising late relieves stress, at least for me.

Depends on what version of my commute I am riding.
For the full version I wake up at 4am. 28 miles each way.
For the half version I wake up at 5am. 13-14 miles each way.
When I ride the bus 5am.
When I work from home 6am.
I start work around 7am.

Some of you people are crazy.... that's all i'm gonna say. Waking up at 4am, and then riding for over 2 hours is unacceptable. I love my sleep to much. I can't do anything earlier than 5:00am. If I rode over an hour, i'd be beat the entire day.......

Wake up when I hear the kids, usually around 7:30. Feed them breakfast. Nanny comes at 8:30 and I'm out the door for my 12+ mile commute. I start work when I get there, no real schedule. I never schedule meetings before 10.
Getting up at 4 a.m. is only reserved for alpine starts, not working. Some of you guys are insane. I go to bed around 2 a.m.

I get up at 3:20am. Shower, eat breakfast, fix lunch, get dressed according to weather. Leave about 4:10.I ride 8.5mi to work. Pretty easy ride. Stop and buy a newspaper. Get to work about 4:52am read paper, have a smoke. Work at 5. Get off at 2pm. I have several routes going home, depending what mood I'm in. I take the direct route or the scenic route along the bikepath. I like to take the bikepath tho to see if any other bikers are out. If its cold out then I don't see anyone. If the weather breaks like it has lately. I see alot of bikers. Where were they last week when the temps were in the teens. I ride everyday. I have to, no car. At this point I'm pushing 500 miles.

I'm up at 9:30 AM, 10 at the latest. I drink coffee and read for about an hour. Then it's breakfast followed by an hour or more for riding. I take a shower when I get home, laze around some more. The grueling 3.76 mile commute starts at 2:15. I like to get in a bit early, change clothes, hit the cafeteria. Shift report starts at 3:00 sharp and I'm never late.
I'm one lucky SOB!

My alarm is set for 0342. I try to leave by 0410, earlier if it's a head wind. 22 mile trip, start at 0530, 2 * 12 hour day shifts followed by a (1/2) day off then 2 * 12 hour night shifts. Then 4 sleep ins.

If I am commuting on bicycle ( >= 30F no rain and snow around 3 days a week)
- Get up 5 am
- Check weather and pack stuff and check bike
- Out of doors by 6 am
- Reach office somewhere between 7.30-8.00 am
- Shower and get ready by 8.30 - ish
- 5.00 pm get up and get dressed
- 5.15 on my way back
- Home by around 6.45-7.00 pm
- Dinner and then hang out, read bikeforums, some stuff
- Sleep by 9.30-ish
If not commuting on bicycle, still get up at 5, hit the gymn, work out, and leave house by 8 am, drive and be at office by like 9.

We have flex time at work.
I wake up when I please. I go in when I please.
Unless there is a call on a client or special meeting.
But it usually takes me 1 1/2 hour to get up and ready and 35 minutes to commute.

As i've been reading the forums, I keep reading about people who have their 5, 10, 15, 20 + mile commute.
My commute is 6.5 km (one way)
13km both ways Roughly 8 miles.
I have to wake up at 6am, eat, shower, have breakfast, and leave the house at 7am so I can be at work for 7:30.
I can't imagine if I had a 20 mile commute, what time I would have to get up.
Or if I started work at 8am, i'd have to be at work for 7....
how do you early risers do it? How do you start work at 8am, and travel 22 miles to get there? What time do you hit the sack?

My commute is 22 miles each way. I have to be at work by 8:15 but don't actually start working until 9. I get up at 5AM, feed the cats, eat breakfast, shower, dress, and hit the road by 6:30. I usually get to work at 8 or thereabouts, so I have some time to stop sweating and change into work clothes.

6:15 Alarm Goes Off

6:25 brush teeth and shave
6:30 Coffee Started
6:35 Bike Clothes on/battery off charger

6:55 Off
7:15 Arrive at work
7:30 Showered, clothes changed, etc. and at desk
4:30 - ??? Leave work beaten down by the man
??? Home - relatively refreshed
Found bike commuting helps with (among other things) ironing out my frustrations before I get home. When driving, sometimes don't have enough time to unwind. Come on spring - went from high 30's/low 40's yesterday (biked) to single digits/40 mph wind gusts/snow today (drove)...
