A) Occupation

Software Developer for a biofuels consulting company

B) Commuting Distance

~5 miles one way

C) When at work I a) shower b) change clothes/clean up c) don't change clothes and hope for the best/clean up

arrive early - dry for about 10 minutes - change clothes/wash face in bathroom

D) Where bike is parked

bike rack installed for me and the one other biker in the office.

E) Number of years commuting

2

F) Year-round/part time commuter

part time - wish i was year round

Bikes: Commuter: Stolen Red Kinesis frame - 26*1.9" Slicks "La Zorra" Touring: Steel frame Shimano600 gruppo 700*38 slicks

a) Occupation -> Structural Engineer
b) Commuting distance-> 25-30km roundtrip
c) When at work-> I leave shoes and jacket in office, ride in t-shirt and carry the shirt in a messenger bag. When in office, refresh my body with blow of fan, change shoes and t-shirt and get a cup of coffee *et voilá* ... ready to work.
d) Where bike is oparked-> Parking lot in basement, I *bribed* the janitor and security guard with a cup of coffee and biscuits for allow me that... Four other people in buildind do that, so they got a lot of free coffee...
e) Number of years commuting-> Started in July 2007
f) Year-round /part time commuter -> Year round (So far)

C) When at work I - don't have to change, but I wipe off my face in the summer

D) Where bike is parked - bike racks all over campus

E) Number of years commuting - nearly 3

F) Year-round/part time commuter - first year, no winter riding. last year, some winter riding. this year, i haven't been off the bike but a few days.

B) Commuting Distance - 12 to 40 miles one way...depending on route
C) When at work I - now shower...I own the business so finally installed one in the basement. Used to sponge bath in the sink!
D) Where bike is parked - inside back room
E) Number of years commuting - about 3 years
F) Year-round/part time commuter - Part time...pretty much a warm weather rider, meaning above 30 degrees. Right now my roads are ice. Definitely full time with warm weather.

A) Occupation: Public interest lawyer representing poor children
B) Commuting distance: Ranges from 6 miles round trip on the bike (when I'm working in the home office) to 130 miles round trip with about 12 on the bike and the rest on the train (when I'm in the field)
C) When at work I . . . work. No shower, no change. When it's hot, I ride slow.
D) Where the bike is parked: If I'm at the home office, it's in my office; if I'm in the field, it's chained up on the streets of southwestern Connecticut.
E) Number of years commuting: 11
F) Year round/part time? Year round, baby. Snow ain't nothin'.

Live on campus, 6 miles round trip to work

I commute in work clothes unless the weather is really bad.

D) Where bike is parked: Locked to bike rack outside. It's not my nicest bike.

C.1) I hang by bike cloths under a back desk where I have a fan blowing on them to dry them while I work.

D) Where bike is parked In front of the lobby in the bike rack, unless there is a chance of rain then it goes in an empty office

E) Number of years commuting this make 3

F) Year-round/part time commuter year around.

Since this is the commuting section, I would be curious to know what jobs people are commuting by bike, and the different rituals when arriving at work. So, here the questions:

B) Commuting Distance - 10.7 mile roundtrip

C) When at work I a) shower b) change clothes/clean up c) don't change clothes and hope for the best/clean up
Usually b). We have a shower available and I may decide to use that when the hot weather hits.


D) Where bike is parked - Bike rack in parking level of building

E) Number of years commuting - four months this time around. Commuted on and off in previous assignments. Last assignment I could walk to work.

F) Year-round/part time commuter - Year-round commuter

two separate routines: a short 1 1/3 mile one-way ride to the subway and continue on by subway to my office; a longer 11 miles one-way trip into my office, most on MUP.

C) When at work I:
Shower and change if bike all 11 miles to office or just go in work clothes and shower beforehand if take
the short ride to the subway.

D) Where bike is parked
bike locker at subway; basement bike rack at work.

E) Number of years commuting
2 for the short ride, almost 1 for the long ride.

F) Year-round commuter
Yes for the short ride to the subway, trying to do more year round long commute when the weather is bad and the days are short.

Bikes: Mercier Corvus (commuter), Fila Taos (MTB), Trek 660(Got frame for free and put my LeMans Centurian components on it)

Occupation- Computer Programmer/Developer
Commute distance a - 23.92 mi. (ride in carpool home)
Commute distance a.1 - 48 mi (round trip)
Commute distance b - 28 mi. (using a park and ride round trip)
Commute distance c - 8 mi. (riding from father inlaws workplace round trip)
get to work- shorter commute, walk right in
get to work longer commute- shower dress and put shoes on at desk.
Bike is locked to a rack bolted to the building. - very safe area actually, I have had a car stolen but the bikes are actually safer than the parking lot.
Been commuting for 4 years in this latest go of it. I rode 1 year in college and 2 years in Japan on a mission for my church.
Rain, snow, sleet, hail, or flame of summer baby.

20km total, 10km each way, for 2 days a week (College)

Between the doors at work, bike rack at college
