Bikes: Merida Freeway 9300

Hi,
I'm an TEFLing at the moment between two state-run schools in Southern Japan. One is 10 minutes away and the other is 30 mins. Don't know what that makes in miles. When I get to work I usually don7t change clothes unlesss it's raining and then it's a must, because it tends to be very heavy. My bikes is parked at school and I've been commuting for 11 months, year round.
Cheers

I work in sales for a "big box" home improvement center retailer. My commute is 6-7 miles depending on route. I change clothes/clean up as best I can before work. (Not that it matters much, we get sweaty enough working there. I lock my bike to a sturdy shelf upright at the front of the store. I've been commuting for 1 week now, and plan to do it year-round.

[QUOTE=Wiswell]Since this is the commuting section, I would be curious to know what jobs people are commuting by bike, and the different rituals when arriving at work. So, here the questions:

A) Occupation

Letter Carrier (Mailman) United States Postal Service

B) Commuting Distance

23.5 miles one way

C) When at work I a) shower b) change clothes/clean up c) don't change clothes and hope for the best/clean up

B) Change clothes into my uniform. No shower available

D) Where bike is parked

Sometimes lock it to a safety rail behind the Station, but usually my Supervisor locks in in the Supply Room for me.

E) Number of years commuting

Started riding occasionally last year.

F) Year-round/part time commuter

Trying to work up to at least twice a week. The daily workout of riding in, walking mine and part of another route with mail, then riding home against the wind is a bit tough right now. I'm planning on trying twice a week starting Monday. The alarm going off at 3:00 AM is probably my biggest obstacle to overcome!

Bikes: Specialized Rockhopper circa 1993

Occupation: Phlebotomist/vampire/blood sucker
Distance: 14.5 miles each way
When arrived at work: Shower, change clothes
Bike parking: Under the stairs of a circular stair well
How long commuting: This is my first year, only about 2 months so far
Year round/part time: I am going to try as much as possible this winter, although I suspect that on heavy snow days or if the temp is too far below 0 degrees F, I will probably cave and take the car.

Interesting thread,
Kat
