Well, here's my "Clear skies? YES!" Commuter:

Just took it for a 40km "saturday" ride, and had to race the rain home.
...I lost, but not by much!
I'll take the daily hack out sometime soon and get some better shots of it. Poor 310, my most un-photographed beast, yet it's my most used bike!

How the posture? I see you have your handlebars set so they angle down; is the posture usually more upright?
Thanks,

The Dummy rides well and I don't notice any squishy-ness in the rear disc. It rides the same with 60lb carpet cleaner on one side and nothing on the other. I hauled an old Schwinn back from the LBS with the tire in the front tire in the freeloader and it worked flaulessly.
I am still working on the best posture and handlebar choice. I may go with some retro cruiser bars soon.

Why yes they are the Randonneur Pro's, in a 700x32. I like them really well. I am a newbie to the road bike though, so I don't know anything different. They sure roll alot better than my 26x2.1 MTB tires!!

Hoping mine will be here tomorrow so I can install them and get a few miles on them this weekend. I have about a 55 mile ride next Tuesday and lacing up some CR18's this weekend.

Anyway, thought I'd post my actual real life bike this time. I'm still fiddling with the seat trying to get it the perfect height and making it not impale my manhood. It's a bit low in these photos. Also those mudguards/fenders are a real pain to adjust perfectly, they're so rattly! Alas, haven't had the need to fit the pannier rack yet... Sorry the photos are so dark - black bike and grey day...

Because of the weather it's only done about 8 miles, it's brightening up now though so I think I'll put it through it's paces this weekend. Love this bike

My favourite lady rides a Breezer and my daughter rides a nearly identical Raleigh... almost did a double take there.

The Breezer is such a nicely equipped bicycle... am also building up a Peugeot UE19 Supersport (mixte) with a 7 speed Nexus so the lady has a nice spare and I think she will like having a 700c equipped bike. It doesn't have quite the gearing range of the Alfine on her Breezer but it is a much lighter bike.

My son's in between that 20" Raleigh and the 24" Fuji step-through. He uses the Fuji (which has a rack) when he's bringing something to school that doesn't fit into his backpack and he needs a pannier. In the fall his sister will be starting K at the same school and they can be a little parade, him on one of those and she on her pink 16" bike (unless she's outgrown it and taken the Raleigh from him).
My wife alternates between the Breezer and a Jamis Aurora. The Breezer is a great all-inclusive bike. The Jamis she was coveting, missing her 1980s Schwinn that got destroyed, while restricted to the Breezer, but once she landed it, she sticks to the Breezer more after all.

Here's mine - note the fredtastic American-flag bell, two bux at the Job Lot, and loud as hell. The generic folding grocery pannier is carrying a pair of 2 liter soda bottles, eggs and a can of almonds - and it still has tons of room. That thing is awesome.
Just put on the stainless 60mm V.O. fenders week before last. Waiting for a few parts and to make sure winter is really for really reals over and done before I put the Brooks B33 back on. Also, the pedals are Animal Hamilton's, but they won't sell me a t-shirt in XXXL, something about brand image.

Fixed fork and new front derailleur are high on the list of mods I want done before spring, and the rear brake seems mushy, probably because the cable is too low-grade for such a long run. I'm also looking for a steel dork disk, just to tick people off.

Bikes: surly cross check
What fork did you put on your Cross Check? I've been thinking about a front rack for some summer touring.

Just about finalized. 42/18 fixed, 32mm tires. 40mm tires were kind of a bust but that was at 42/17, maybe they'd push easier at the new lower gear. Those are delgado rims, I am considering treaded tires for these rims (along with the winter studs) and move the 32s to a set of lighter rims that I also have.

The fork is a Cannondale Slice of my fiancées Optimo. The canti boss broke on the surly fork last week. Just snapped when braking, but thats a different story. Its okay, but is designed around the C'dale frame, so its quite "bulky" at the HT and I gained about 1.5 cm A-C, but thats no biggie for a temp thing. But will do till I get the surly fork replaced. The front rack uses the fender eyelets and crown brake hole. It is a modded blackburn rack. I cut it down at the front, removed the alum deck, and removed the "deck support" at the back. Then I flopped it, making the back (part normally near the saddle) and made a washer/spacer to bring the legs away from the legs at the eyelets.

Now I need to take a pic of my shopping bike (FrankenVega) coming back with a full load of hooch from Wilburs. That won't be for a while now, since I just made a trip yesterday and came back with a medium load consisting of a 12-pack. 8 cans of Bitburger 500ml, two boxes of wine, and a 1.75 of Canadian rotgut.
