Groundhog Day... same thing over and over again. Strong tailwind in the morning to be followed by a strong headwind in the afternoon. I'd give anything for calm winds for the ride home.

I put new slick 26x1.25 tires on this morning and flew to work on my fixed winter bike, which is in danger of becoming a summer bike now

Had my first commute in the (at times heavy) rain this morning - having wet glasses didn't bother me as much as I thought it would; happy thin wool garments dry quickly. Some gusty cross-winds on the way home, and I broke the top off of one of my water bottles (it fell back into the bottle). Looking forward to being fit enough to commute in every day - it is often the highlight of my day...

40F, blinding sun. Generally damp everywhere though.
Kids home for spring break, needed to wait until the babysitter got to the house to head out. Pretty much cleared out all the intersections on my route, a really nice change. (main drag home stretch before the office same as ever, steady build from 6-7am level until about 10am when I can no longer merge into the car lanes from the bike lane).

Wind showed up this afternoon, but it was still an excellent commute home. 72F with partly cloudy skies and winds from the SSW @ 16mph, giving me some head/cross winds.

Such a wonderful spring morning! It was raining when I got up, but just as I was putting on my jacket the sky cleared. When I opened the front door I was greeted with a beautiful trio of mallard ducks on the lawn. I had to stop and admire them for a few minutes. Outside, everything was sparkling, birds were singing, flowers in bloom all around, and the sky was a lovely cerulean with fluffy white clouds.
It made me glad I ride to work.

Calm in the 70's, very nice weather to ride in. Home at 8PM should be 10 degrees colder at least. All in all a good day.

Nice day for a ride if a touch bit on the warm side for my tastes; I got one toot on the horn leaving my neighborhood.
I sure was proud to see my fiancée heading out on her bike this morning. She carried an awkward load (a box containing our wedding invitations) in the bag on her back. She's fairly new to commuting but she's already clearly confident. :-D
I'm still on the partial ride but I'm itching to ride further. I drop my bike off this weekend for new handlebars and I get it back middle of next week so hopefully I'll be back full distance in a few weeks. I hope MARTA behaves this weekend since I'll be bus-dependent.

Left with enough time this morning to take the longer route. It was fantastic to ride in. Bit of a headwind. On the way home I ripped along and made pretty good time. Warm and nice today.

Sounds like everyones enjoying the commute in the spring weather..same here, even though there was a little rain this morning it just heightened all the wonderful spring smells. Just swapped out my break pads and I think I'll leave a little earlier tomorrow morning just to enjoy the ride.

The wonderful weather continues today, 13 C (57 F) at 5 am, and I love the warmth and dark of the morning. All those mornings of ice and snow and
temps below 0 are all but a distant memory.

Mine was pretty nice. Beautiful weather, not too warm (yet), and a rather heartening experience.
I was sitting at a stoplight when a blue van rolled up next to me. I instantly thought, "Oh, great, here it comes -- he's gonna tell me to get on the sidewalk."
Instead, the fellow driving the van leaned over and said, "Hey, can I ask you a favor? I ride bikes too, and I think you should get a flasher."
I reached back to check my seatpost bag, and sure enough, my blinky was gone! I said, "Oh, it fell off!" (I hope I didn't sound like I was annoyed with the driver; I wasn't). Then I asked him if my helmet blinkie was on, since I figured if I'd actually succeeded in turning it on this morning (sometimes the button clicks when you press it without actually turning on the light), he wouldn't have mentioned it. He said, "No," so I turned it on and thanked him. A moment later, the light turned green.
I'm not sure where my seat bag blinky went, since apparently I didn't hear it hit the ground. I hope some other cyclist who needs one will find it and use it. As for me, I have something like thirty-seven blinkies, so I'll just replace it and make sure the new one is a little more secure!

Ah, what oddly glorious New England spring weather. Much to my wife's amusement, and chagrin, I've resumed my pre-dawn "training" rides on my road bike (though I'm training for nothing in particular): out at 5:30am for a 22-mile loop up through Arlington and Lexington. I'll be doing this two or three times a week. And afterward, when I set out on my commute, gee whiz! I'm ready to chase down every delivery van and school bus I see.

My commuter was 'off'. I've started leaving later and catching a different train. This one is MUCH more difficult to load, hold and unload my bike on.
Then I got to work, cable locked my bike to the railing next to the wheelchair ramp as usual, walked to the front door and realized I'd left my keys at home. How nice it would have been to remember that before I locked the bike up.
Looking for bolt cutters...

First cycle commute in over a week. I only worked two days last week, and didn't cycle either day. (What?! I had my reasons!) Finally swapped the studded tires for semi-slicks last night, and I sure felt faster this morning.
At a stop light, a car pulls up beside me, the window rolls down, and the driver yells, "Hey! Don't you have any brake lights?" Seemed like an odd thing to ask a guy on a bicycle. Turns out he was talking to a motorcyclist on the other side of me.

Nice soft morning, like they might say in Ireland. Sun shining and like an inch of mist fell on me while I was riding in.
Again I missed the cager rush hour, but this time I hit the retiree rush hour which is much more chaotic.

Popped a flat halfway to work this morning, so I walked 1.5 miles in the morning and two in the afternoon, then rode another two or so... it was sunny and HOT for APril! Time to break out the shorts and tanks.

Cold starts (38 degrees last couple mornings) but as soon as sun comes up (whatever that may mean - should clarify by when clouds turn from black to dark grey to whitish) it's back in the 40s. Thinking of switching to my lighter leg warmers and ditching the medium weight gloves for good. Wind was at my back this morning so made it to work 15 minutes faster than normal - hitting all the lights perfectly helped too.
And this was AFTER almost getting sideswiped in my neighborhood. Good thing I pay attention. Two lanes southbound, metro bus stopped in left lane, a car ahead of me in right lane as I approach taking the full right lane. When I'm about 1.5 car lengths behind bus, a car revs up and moves into left lane next to me and pauses behind bus for a split second. I think, "No way, they aren't..." Yep! Driver then abruptly floors it to the right as I'm at her rear wheel and I fortunately move in the nick of time, not slowing down, but paralleling her as the light is still red and she's behind other car. I'm about 4" away from her once this is all over right at her passenger window - yelling, "Did you REALLY not SEE ME" as my helmet light blinks in her face and she flinches. I pulled ahead of her and she chilled out looking like she was just confounded. No real learning took place there unfortunately.

When is the nice weather getting here? Cold in the morning with gusty head winds for the ride home. I am still afraid to swap out the studded tires.

ooh, nice bike ride along the bike path this morning and nice ride home. Great weather! Sweet.

Great ride this morning. Temps near 70. Awesome! This evening was 90 with a head wind all the way home. Felt like summer. Great day for a ride!

Cough, cough. The pollen was so thick during my ride to work this morning that it looked like snow in my headlight beam. Made good time riding to work, despite a mild head wind. However, it was very hot on the trip home (92 F) and I was much slower. I'm not ready for 90-degree heat. We never had spring.

Wonderful warm weather at 17 C (64 F). This has been a wonderful week. The guard at the front door commented this morning that every day I seem to have less and less clothing on, and she is right.
