Yikes! Hoping you're okay.

As for me; I had a great commute to and from work today. The roads were wet, but I missed the rain. It was sunny when I picked my son up from daycare, so I decided to take us on the family bike to McDs for some dinner (such as it is). Unfortunately, it started raining while we were eating so we had a wet, cold ride home. He was a trooper, though, and didn't complain at all. Next year he graduates from the bike seat to a Trail-a-Bike. I can't wait!

Otherwise, I was having a wonderful commute in this morning! The wet, cold and high winds didn't bother me one bit.

My commute was about 12 feet this morning. 6 feet out the door, pushing the bike...

"Why does it feel like the brakes are dragging?"
"Oh. My back tire is flat. Dang."

...6 feet back inside.

Working from the bat cave at home. At least it's Friday.

I got a little further, 1 mile. Walked back home and took the car. Broke the shift cable in the other bike Wednesday so both need repairs tomorrow morning.

Well, as much as I hate to break the trend of mechanical failures, I had a relatively uneventful commute on this crisp, sunny morning. Getting more used to the feel of riding with the load in panniers, but it is still a bit weird.

Another day of no traffic on chain bridge road, so again I did my eleven and a half miles in under 50 minutes. Most people are wearing leg coverings of some sort, and I suppose I'll succumb if the temp drops another 5-10 degrees. I almost pulled on an outer layer for the top, but once I got pedaling, I was fine. Need to find or replace my clear glasses, darn it!

One moment of inattention on my part -- crossing some pedestrian paths near the Lincoln Memorial I think I pulled in front of another cyclist who probably had right of way.

Oh, in the 'good deed' department (I hope), I turned off another cyclist's rear blinkie which was dutifully flashing while the bike was parked at the rack. I hope he hadn't just run inside for a momentary errand...

Great commute this morning at 38F and sunny with winds from the W @ 11mph. Average speed was a little faster today than Wednesday, and I even had headwinds.

You know, for the last few months this bike has plagued me with more flat tires and mechanical problems than I have had in all my years of riding combined and I started to believe it was trying to tell me something.... Well it finally got it's point across it seems, haha. I finally retired it last night. I gets a nice spot on the wall next to my other retired frame.

Ride home yesterday was not fun watched in horror as a fellow cyclist a few blocks ahead of me got nailed by a car pulling out of side street luckily there was a cop a block behind me and he was able to get there as quickly as he did, i stayed and tried my best to comfort the poor guy until the paramedics got there, I think he should be fine though mostly i think he was just shaken up, did the whole up and over the front of the car thing. Needless to say the rest of the ride home and the ride this morning I was on full alert. Nice morning 45f calm and thank god uneventful.

The last three days I've had to drive to off site meetings but finally got to commute in today. Actually I got a little fun ride in yesterday afternoon as well. Didn't check the temp before I left, but I'd guess low 50s F. High will be mid 70s. Commuting in street clothes now; jeans, t-shirt, hoodie and then a cycling jacket over the top. I still sweat a little but not enough to stink or require a change. Autumn is awesome!

-1C for the pre-dawn morning ride and +12C for the ride home, yesterday was -1 and +20. The high / low temperatures in the forecast for next week are a lot closer to each other. I'll be able to start riding home wearing all the clothes I rode in with, instead of half of them in an overflowing grocery pannier.

I'm going to stop by a few ski / snowboard places today to look for some cool weather gear.

Ran in to work twice this week. To my surprise I enjoyed it both times; the only problem is I then have to take a bus home in the evening - hopefully it won't be too long until I'm up to running the 11k home as well.

Still not as much fun as cycling, although when it's raining the difference is a lot less.

Good commute home at 44F and partly cloudy with winds from the WNW @ 23mph. The high for the day never went above 48F. The tailwinds were nice and they definitely seemed to help out. My left disk brake was making a higher pitch noise every time I stopped, so I'm gonna have to fix that soon. Hit some pretty heavy traffic because of a cement truck parked 1/2 way into the right lane near the one of the stop lights. It took about 8 min to go less than 1/4 mile.

URGGGGHHHHHHH another crappy ride home ran a nail over way too big of a hole to try and patch on the side of the road, gave up and hoofed it the rest of the way home. The nail managed to go in and outta tire and put a nice gouge in rim and cut my rim liner, boooooooooo

Took the bike to work yesterday.
One thing I love about my commute is that it is rural and the weather, seasons and tides (I follow the shoreline for about half my ride) mean that it is a different ride every time.
Last night was cool and foggy with little car traffic. The last half is especially quiet and in the fog I always worry about hitting a deer on a downhill run. The darn things seem to have more teeth than brain cells.

I had a pleasant ride into Center City this morning. The temperature was perfect, no need for gloves, but I did wear a light fleece shirt.

43F with a headwind. Damp from rain last night.

I patched my rear tube yesterday. It had a little sliver of a hole in it. The tire itself was clean but I saw where something went through the tread. This morning the tire was rock hard. I got to work and it was soft. Now it's completely flat. Either the patch failed (would be the first time for me) or I picked up something else riding in. I'll wheel it over (one block) to the LBS and have them put a new tube in it.

Ride in today was pretty good, still in the 70's temp-wise, and a fresh rain last night + sugar cane harvesting season = muddy roads. No rain, just lots of fog and slimy goo on the asphalt.
