Cycling App for Google Phone... kinda cool
https://www.cnet.com/8301-19736_1-10299291-251.html
It does a lot but the only part I used the last two days was the GPS tracking to & from work. It calcs total calories burned, mph for each part of the commute, elevation climbed, etc. Plus it saves all your commutes online for a history.
kinda cool... but maybe not for folks that have compters on their bikes and stuff.

Just in case someone's wondering, what's your connection with this app or its manufacturer?

I would doubt any. My friend d/l the app for her I-phone. It is quite cool. I believe it is just a Google side project. Unless you work for google, I would doubt the connection to the app is anything more than excitement. Mostly because it is like 3 or 4 dollars.

Ha ha... I work in corporate finance for a fortune 50 company (not google; not tech). I just happened to buy a google phone 2 days ago.
Oh, and the app is actually free unless you buy the add-ons that I don't need.

So I used a few of them: MapMyRide, GPS Tracker, and Trail something or another all weren't very good. ActiveX's GPS app was pretty good but it was designed like a kitchen sink sort of PC app, trying to be everything to everyone. It was trying to be just like a GPS unit, with other stuff bolted on. That and a few bugs. Very full featured, but not the best designed IMO. Then I found Cyclemeter, and I'm really happy with it. It's at https://www.abvio.com/cyclemeter/ . Well designed for the road rider or just the interested commuter. I have it set to sent updates to a Twitter account so my wife knows when I'm getting home.
ActiveX's program could do this too in its defense, but it would insist on sending updates right when I launched the program, when I wasn't recording a route. Annoying, among other things.
