I commuted up Lookout Mt in Golden on a rare foggy morning for a damp day of trail work. 25 miles and 2000' plus 6 hours of work for the day, and I was beat.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1f2cea7d49.jpg The next day, yesterday, I cycled 70 miles for a RMA + 2. I overdid it again, keeping up with friend in his mid-seventies. |
The wife and I rode for 19 miles this morning on a route we need to ride more often. Very smooth open roads and the weather was near perfect.

So I went out and rode 30 today along the Mississippi. |

Don’t ride on weekends.

Taking the other 2 wheeler for a trip this week
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f483121482.jpg |
I rode my bike to work today, so there will be a ride home. I am not sure how direct the ride home will be as there is winds gusting up to 29mph. But on the other hand it isn't raining today.
I did ride two days this week along the McDade recreational trail in East Stroudsburg PA. I got about 10 miles each ride. I am not a fan of that trail as some of the rocks make it more unpleasant for riding. I wasn't aware of the trail conditions as I didn't read that much detail. I have since learned to read further information before taking a trip. |

Been there. |

Yes. As a matter of fact it is. IL has a trail from Rock Island to Albany IL along the river. It's not very far from me. It's one of my favorites.

Today’s ride was awesome. such a variety of experiences…two snakes. dozens of leaping lizards
I helped a snake cross HWY 35. Electric motorcycles. And a few personal accomplishments. lots of nature. I am one who stops to smell the wild fennel. So my riding style is akin to hiking, just on wheels of course I love speed too and find those spots and a few mini jumps. I only saw one other mtber on the trails today. and that was within a quarter mile of the finish. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e505ea5ce7.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...64223a3d0.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...31be258b8.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...afddc2c7c.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bd9965847.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...472083431f.jpg |

Did you ever ride past Albany? Someone told me you can pick up the trail again at Fulton by using county roads and it goes to Savannah.
If you want hill work ,you can just head up into farm country in Port Byron , Cordova and Albany. Don’t forget to check out the Indian mounds in Albany , there is a bike trail through the site. I logged thousands of miles riding out my front gate when I lived there. Did RAGBAI and TOMRV many times. |

Yes I have done that many times . I rode past Savannah, but never went all the way to the end. I believe it is seventy five miles from Rock Island to the end. It is indeed the Great River Trail. I used for my training back when I still went long.

I rode to the senior center today to play cards. When I left the senior center after lunch I noticed my bike felt wonky. I stopped and looked and didn't see anything got back on and got across the street from the senior center, wonky feeling still there. I walked the bike back to the senior center and called uber. I got a ride home as the back wheel was low, not flat but very low. Though when I got the bike home I got out the tire pump and was intending to pump up the tire. When I put the piece on the gage read 0. So I inflated to 60 psi. I have been checking it this afternoon and think the bike is going to need a new tube on the back tire as it seems to be deflating, though very slowly.

Another grocery trip today, 16 miles total.
https://i.imgur.com/nc3ByEA.jpg That insulator bag fell off the bike at around the 7 mile mark on the way home, and it tore badly. I'll have to go back to the milk crate on the rear for the grocery trips, and will have to get a decent set of retainer cords for the bike. Very strong N/W winds on the way out. Coming back was quite an impressive clip- I must have been averaging 16-17 mph on the way back :D Tail-winds are worth all the effort heading out. Taken with the phone, and the color is way off- especially on the bike frame. It's actually dark Navy Blue, not grey. -D.S. |
138km today. I felt surprisingly good today, the riding I've been doing in the spring has paid off. I found it much easier today to keep up the pace, and despite 40km of my ride being on busy Tokyo streets, and the usual headwind from hell in the final 20km on the cycling course, I was able to beat my best time for 100km. I'll do it again on Friday, weather permitting.

I checked my bike tire last evening at about five pm and it was flat after putting air in it when I got home. So I got it right over to the bike shop and it was fixed and home in under 45 minutes. So today, I gave up going to the beach so I could ride my bike to the senior center for cards and then off to work for 3 hours then a ride home.
