A nice 32 mile ride with my daughter. I took out the Origin 8 CX700 with fat 700x40 tires at 40 to 50 psi in the tires. Super plush ride with great weather. Very relaxing.

Awesome day. Rode 57 miles in southern Mass. and R. Island. Very slow ride with many stops to admire the scenery.

48 mile club ride today on the Screamer. Very flat out there northeast of Indy. As an added benefit at no extra cost, we got to see some of the Mount Comfort Air Show as we rode by.
Since this was the Morning After the NITE Ride, we started at 12 Noon, so things were a bit sunnier and warmer than on the usual 8AM rides. My stoker provided great afterburner support but was feeling a bit puny after we pulled back into the starting point parking lot. Feeling much better by the time we drove home.

62.6 miles on the tandem today, for our first tandem metric century!

Just a short, slow 20 mile recovery ride, but it put me over 1000 for the season. Woohoo!

rdtompki 06-24-12 04:36 PM

36 miles with 2400' of climbing today on the single. Not bad following a 35 mile tandem ride yesterday. The only tough part of this ride is a 2 mile stretch that never drops below 9.5% with stretches up to 12-13%. Absolutely beautiful day. Pictures to follow.

Gravity Aided 06-25-12 04:24 AM

14 miles, about 190 for month .

Bikey Mikey 06-25-12 07:19 AM

35 miles this morning. Windy so not as fast as yesterday.

CbadRider 06-25-12 03:50 PM

Utility cycling today. I love taking my bike to Home Depot and watching people's faces when I strap all of my purchases onto the rack on the back.

MojojoM 06-25-12 10:57 PM

90+ miles in the past three days. I did my first 50 miler in nearly 25 years - Saturday. It's taken about four months to get to this point. I hadn't ridden in 20 years before then. Bi-lateral hip replacements nearly 21 years ago brought weight gain over the years. I started out four months ago at 259lbs - I'm now at 226... I'm really enjoying being back in the saddle again.

Gravity Aided 06-26-12 04:10 AM

9 miles, headwinds but cooler weather. Heat comes back tomorrow .

qcpmsame 06-26-12 05:15 AM

Rode yesterday evening after the winds subsided. It was muggy as usual for this time of the year. Rode the out and back at a moderate pace. Absolutely no idea what my average speed was and didn't care either.

I've been doing a lot of "errand type riding - mostly to PT, the swimming pool, store, etc. The miles do add up, but I son't keep track. Man, has it been hot and smoky. I try and get out about 6 am - less smoke as the fires have lain down during the night - and temps in the 60's, instead of the 100's.

Bikey Mikey 06-26-12 06:23 AM

35½ windy miles with a few big gusts.

az_cyclist 06-26-12 10:00 AM

12.1 @ 20.0 ave this morning.

Saturday, 198.x, the Grand Tour Lowlands double century in Malibu/Ventura Co CA. Great ride, the LA Wheelmen do a great job of hosting it, and I rode with 17 other Bull Shifters !

Mike Kimball 06-26-12 12:22 PM

It's been raining here for three straight days; 20-25 mph winds. Waiting for tropical storm Debbie to get out of Florida. I haven't ridden since Saturday; starting to get bummed out.

bjjoondo 06-26-12 02:23 PM

17 miles, HOT, close to 100 degrees, had to wait for the "wind" to shift to clear out the "smoke" from the Waldo Canyon Fire here in Colorado Springs! Up to about 11 AM. it was like sucking in a "campfire". Got out about 11:30 but we are now in our 3rd. day of record breaking HEAT! At 6000+ feet 100 degrees is HOT, thank GOD we don't have the killer humidity some of you folks have!! PS: I'd be MORE than happy to miss a few days riding for some RAIN!!!

Welcome back Mojo. That's a great start on some weight loss. I've been struggling with a mere 15 pound gain since retiring. It goes on so easy and goes off so hard.

Rode just 21 miles today just to keep the legs spinning but with about 20 pounds in the panniers in preparation for several tours this summer. I'll soon add the full load with the addition of tent, sleeping bag, food, and camera; total about 28 to 30 pounds.

qcpmsame 06-26-12 07:04 PM

Mike,
Hope y'all are safe where you live, the flood waters are pretty bad in the Tampa area. We are settling into the summer pattern here but only 51% humidity today. That is low for us, usually in the mid 80% to 100% in the summer. I rode the usual but a fast pace later than usual, still 93*F when I rode at 7:00 P.M.

Welcome back Mojo, good to see that you are riding now.

Rode to and from work today (20 miles) in almost perfect weather: Low humidity 60F this am and around 80F in the pm, still with low humidity. A bit a of tailwind on the way home, too!
100F or higher predicted for Thursday!!!

Gravity Aided 06-27-12 05:15 AM

10 miles, over 200 for month, also with 100 expected for Thursday, but my ride home is pretty tree lined .

Bikey Mikey 06-27-12 06:25 AM

35½ miles this morning.

Bob Ross 06-27-12 08:46 AM

30 miles, including 3 repeats of the 1.1 mile @ 7% hill mid-ride, with a sweet 8-person paceline. Mercifully cool temps today, don't think it had even broken 70°F by the time we got home.

az_cyclist 06-27-12 12:11 PM

12.2 @ 19.4 ave this morning before work. the start of monsoon is close.....89 deg with a dew pt of 53 at 5 am

My daughter said that we received 15.13" of rain over Friday and Saturday. It's pretty nice here in Illonois but very windy. Tried a ride route yesterday and got in 15 miles, but the hills here are like scaling a mountain. Too much for this flatland, Florida boy. Thursday, I am goin to ride the Route 84 trail. Over 50 miles of flat trail along the Mississippi River.
