Did 48 mi today, 32 in the mts and 16 at home. I rode for over an hour in a cold rain in the mts before calling it quits. The rain took the whole park by surprise as the forecast was for 0-10% chance and the day started out sunny and mild. Strapped the 8-lb weight on my rack again today.

2.8 miles round trip. Dogs, kids on small bikes, and German tourists on the MUP. Dry. Chillier than I'd have liked but I'm a wussy newb. Last 1/3 of the ride was a .35% uphill in the dark. All in all, a good ride.

Was 29 degrees here in NE Ohio but got in a beautiful 44 miles on the Giro this morning. The Meta is still to new to want to take it out when there may be salt on the roads.

Started to do a 44 mile ride this morning but ended up doing 22 miles due to the extremely high winds with 30+ mph gusts.

Fifteen miles into my daily twenty I was on the L A bikeway in Austin TX, crossing an intersection with a green light. The crosswalk was clear, one car in left turn lane. I proceeded to cross, as I went by the car already there I saw a black car out of the corner of my he and it wasn't stopping.
The next thing I know it hits me broadside, I thought I was going to be thrown over the car but I was thrown forward into the traffic lane. I got up as fast as I could and picked up my bike to get off the street.
The driver, a young woman was very sorry and admitted it was her fault. I convinced her I was okay, put the chain back on, straightened the stem back to center and rode home. I had no injuries, not even road rash, the bike had no damage.

Good to hear you are okay. The bike too.

It goes without saying so I'll say it anyway, everybody be careful. It's a jungle out there.

OK, I made it. I drove my car up to aixaix's shop and cycled back home. The headwind was relentless. I'm exhausted. It was only about 19 miles, but it feels like a metric century.

20 miles today on the road. T'was a bit breezy with temps in the 40's. I' hoping to get another few rides in before I shut it down for the season. Unless we get an unexpected run of good weather.

Went to the MUP this morning and decided to do something different. Pulled out the wife's recumbent trike and decided to do half my ride on it and then do the rest on the road bike. Started off at around 15 mph and then kicked it up to around 18 mph, which I held for quite some distance. Then I found new muscles in my thighs that I didn't know existed and had to slow it down to 14-15 mph. The most I've ridden her trike was 8, fairly slow miles last year when my arm was in a sling and I couldn't ride my road bike. Today's ride was 17.5 miles and I could certainly tell the difference in my leg and lower abdominal muscles. Lot's of fun riding it and I think I'll have to do it more often.

No ride today! It's been raining since last night and doesn't look as if it will clear up until sometime this evening.
