The 5" forks of today bring the bars up a lot. The A2C on this is taller than many rigid bikes, but I'll admit its not as comfy as my Komodo

It's pretty choppy there in places and I didn't have a light with me:lol: (who would have guessed?:D) I got there at dusk and rode til I couldn't see anymore.

The riding today was great, until my female friend/riding partner broke her collarbone. looks like shes done till spring.

Now that moto season is over, I had the opportunity to do some solo exploration of brand spankin' new to me trail yesterday. It's been a long time since I went on a ride like this and I had a pretty darn good time.

The trail gnomes had been hard at work creating some pleasant distractions. Where I used to live, this would have been ripped down by the Gestapo in short order.

That looks very similar to a lot of stuff near me. Not stuff I recognize, but the trail gnomes weem to work in very similar ways.


Trespassing? Huh? Totall legit trail for me to be on.

Pinkbike = drop to flat.

The red paint on the tree, typically it represents a property line where there is no trespassing allowed.

Nope. Round here, different colored paint dots mark trails. Red trail, blue trail, yellow, white, green, etc.

I'm upstate, near Ithaca. It's a northeast vibe I reckon. Unfortunately there are not a lot of big monoliths like you've got, but there's still plenty to work with. My suspicion is there are still plenty of undiscovered goods, and if not - well I'll just build some.

Excellent. Closest to up there I've been is a couple days riding around Saratoga Springs earlier this year. Sorta splits the difference. Good stuff.

Rides are few and far between, since buying a house. Once we get settled a bit, things ought to get back to regular hippy day riding.

There is a nice network of trail near the new digs. Mix of a couple town open space parks, one state park, one state forest, and some bits of private land here and there.

The trails wind back and forth between them all. There is enough, you can make a fairly long day of it if you really seek out riding every little bit. Today was a two hour quickie.

Work tonight, then a day/night in Boston to take a break from new house stuff, go see the Massive Attack show, and have some good French food the next mornign before heading home.

Got a good ride in at SMP in Overland Park last night. These new trails really make me wish I still had my XLT. Kansas is rough as crap. Not much for big drops, but basically a 5mi rock gard'n.

Didn't get pic's, was having too much fun.

it is october 20th, and it was sunny, clear blue sky, and high 60's/low 70's. so me and my buddy tom went out to rabbit valley and rode Zion Curtain. since tom was on his hardtail singlespeed, we did it "backwards," meaning we pushed our bikes up the steep, loose, gnarly stuff and rode down the gently sloping stuff. supposedly it is more fun this way, but really it's just easier when you are on a hardtail singlespeed. either way, beautiful day, great ride, awesome views, and i earned my beer today.
