Here is my new one, Ellsworth Enlightenment. I just finished building it last Monday. This one was built specifically for xc racing.

I'll post the before and after pics.

Nice looking rig. You have specs for it? I can already see what the brakes are like.

Behold the FrankenBike! Newly rebuilt from 6-speed to 9-speed with a random mix of SRAM X-7/X-9 and Shimano Deore & Altus C50. Still sporting its stock 11-year-old tires, on new RhynoLite rims. It's wearing a fresh coat of orange Mauna Kea dust from its maiden voyage on the mountain. Special touch: black spray-paint spots where I ground off some rust, so that it matches my car! You know you're jealous.

Here are the specs.

18" Ellsworth Enlightenment frame
Rock Shox SID Team fork
Magura Marta SL disc brakes
FSA Orbit XL II headset
Thomson Stem
AlphaQ carbon flat bar
Single Track Solutions bar ends
generic foam grips
SRAM X9 trigger shifters
SRAM X9 rear derailleur
Shimano XT front derailleur
Shimano XT 11-34 cassette
SRAM PC970 chain
American Classic ISIS bottom bracket
FSA Carbon Pro crankset
Crank Brothers Egg Beater SL's
Thomson seat post
Fizik Aliante Saddle
Hugi 240 hubs
Mavic 317 rims
Stans no tubes
Continental Escape / Explorer tires

I didn't cut too many corners when building it.

The wheels pictured in the "before picture" are actually my back up / mud wheelset. They are shimano XT disc hubs laced to mavic 717 rims. The front wheel has a panaracer dart tire and the rear wheel has a panaracer smoke tire. I converted them to tubeless using Stan's no tubes. These will primarily just be used for muddy race courses.

If Mad Max rode a bicycle in Road Warrior, it would be this one. Flourescent green is my favorite color.

Well, the bike 'broke the bank' so to speak, so beggars can't be chosers and the skewers were in a 'clearance bin'
