Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Eh, looks like every other trek, frame looks nice, but they need to step it up with parts selection. Not a fan of all the in house parts on their bikes. But if you like the bike then that's all that counts.

Pricepoint build... I've got parts laying around so thought I'd build up another rig.

It was either this frame or the Supergo Access XCL. I liked the looks of the Sette better. It won't get dirty until this weekend but I'm happy with it so far.

Bikes: Trek 850 Antelope

My rig is a 1991 Trek 850 Antelope which I keep in really good condition. Although it is basically a mountain bicycle with knobby tires, I substituted smoother tires so that I can use it for road cycling. These tires also have signifigant tread so that I can also do off-road cycling, too. In addition, I replaced the original pedals with BMX pedals which are more durable and last longer. I have used this bike for off-road, commuting, and road cycling for extra long distances. It is not the newest in the line of Trek bikes but it has given me a lot of good service.

In design, its a walking 4 bar, faux bar, 4 bar, whatever you want to call it. With the beefiness is reminds me more of a banshee than the ac, but all the same anyways. However, the pivots are about the largest I have seen on any bike below pure dh race bikes. This thing is a beast. I can't wait to own one. I love the adjustable rear dropouts to adjust for bb height.

Or multiple gears? Well, me, I guess. Perhaps, someday, I'll try SS...or FG, or whatever the hell it's called(I forgot which is which already). Nice bike, anyway. Old school is good.
