Thanks. It's a Klein Pulse II (pre-Trek) modded for ninja-stealth mode (hence the electrical tape over the Klein labels). Since the picture, I've made it more road-specific with a rigid Winwood Purist carbon fork.

It's been my main ride since 97 and it still makes me feel warm and fuzzy...

I wonder if the Cannondale Badboy design was inspired by the Klein Pulse II.

They look similar.

A sticky is a thread that stays at the top of the list, even if there has not been a recent reply.

It was a sticky for a long time, along with quite a few others.. then they decided on the 'best of' topic to put the stickies in.

Makes it a little harder to find them, and IMO newcomers are less likely to see the threads at all...

Nothing gets by you Mr. Brainiac.

Here's another bike picture just to try and cover my tracks and prevent another internet super-sleath from busting me.

this bike kinda looks like a ridgid road bike so wots goin on with it over rocks and downhill!!!?!?

Funny how a manufacturer can make low-end bikes for X-Mart & still market high-end bike for the rest of us....

Nice ride!

Mongoose was one of the biggest names available back in 1993 when I first got into the sport full time....

It's a cyclocross bike, you would be amazed at the abuse you can put one thru.

Just picked up my new ride. It's an '05 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp. I was lucky to find a close-out model in my price-range. It's been 10 yrs since my last bike. I've been impressed with the advancements in suspension & disk brakes rock. The bike will spend time doing hardcore xc, trials, and training. I changed the front spring to extra-firm, but its pretty much good-to-go. I travel alot and will ride all over Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. Hope to see you on the trail!

Oh, and the reflectors are staying for the time being.

Ha, ha! The only time I get to ride is before or after work and it's always dark I don't have a bunch of lights or reflective clothing yet. So, it just seems smart right now. Was hoping to nip the flaming in the butt before it started

Congratulations, Wanderer! My first real mtb was a Rockhopper back in 1991. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
