Mocha latte'?
Be a nice setup riding rock shelf, I find similar tire tread works good on stone.

He can run spacers on top of his stem with no issue other than a potential added danger to his family jewels. (Although even I think his is rather excessive.) The only time this is ov real concern is when we're dealing with a carbon steerer (which we aren't) In fact I'm presently running a pair of above stem spacers on my new Surly 1x1 fork and if I'm not worried there's no reason he should be

Not to say there wouldn't be injury if the tube were cut, but a 1.125 x 3" cylinder to the solar plexus, chin, or teeth is in this case an avoidable situation.

Yesterday, I got the steerer of my fork cut 1,2 inches as a precautionary measure to any sort of injury caused by that tube. I was imaging that someday I could hit my mouth, tooth, chin against the tube and it wouldn't be so confortable than facing a smooth ground.
Thanks for your inputs.

Bikes: KHS 555, Trek 820 converted to cruiser/winter bike, Trek 520 singlespeed conversion.
Here's mine:
GF Wahoo with these upgrades: Avid Rim Wrangler brake shoes with replacable pads, Panaracer Fire XC tires, Bontrager Select dual density grips, reflective tape for safety, and two bottle cages.
The drivetrain has been upgraded with a LX rear and Deore front, but soon will get a LX front, SRAM 9-speed cassete, SRAM powerlink chain, and hopefully a new crank (LX?).
Anyhow, I really am pleased with the blue/red non-stock look.
Much cooler than I expected.

i was thinking about that and the chance that the new one could get stolen, but the frame is just too small for me. i use my dads old road bike for that fall and spring, but i might think about putting some cyclocross tires on it if that would work too in the winter.
