No, it's solid blue. My brother paid about $800 for the frame, and the complete build cost him around $3,500. Being the good guy that I am, I gave him $700 for it when it was no more than 2 months old. I sold off some of the parts, and replaced them with leftovers from an upgraded Jekyl. When I return to the states, I'll get the Headshok rebuilt and return it to a more respectable ride.

Bikes: I don't own the bicyle... It owns me!

Arg... Blah... This is my frameset. It's built up, but don't have those pics yet. This might be a re-post, not sure? Enjoy And, Can anyone tell me what frame this is (no... it's not an old Trek)?

I could post my Rockhopper, but who cares. The bike we have that draws attention is this 89 Nishiki. It's in great shape for a 16 year old. We added the Suntour shocks so it could keep up with the other bikes. When we unload this one at the trail entrance, it gets more than a casual look. I can't tell if their saying 'Wow look at that great old bike' or 'Look at that old fool on that old clunker.' Either way, it gets the looks.

Woohoo! I received a custom painted Nishiki Ariel fior my graduation in 1987. I loved that bike, but apparently not as much as the loser that stole it did.

I'm sorry to hear that it was stolen Expatriate. I think Nishikis are cool. The Cunningham era was awesome. I wish Raleigh or whoever has the rights to the name would resurrect the it and manufacture some serious Nishiki mountain bikes again.

I replaced it with a Trek 7000, which wasn't too bad. And I've done pretty well since then.

OK, I'm impressed. Do you know what it weighs? I looked at a Ironhorse dualy, but it weighed in @ 36.5 lbs so I passed.

I have not had a chance to weigh it recently, (since changing a few parts out)...I am pretty sure it's at about 27lbs. I was a litte skeptical of the weight, coming from a 22lb H/T...but it seems very solid, and the 4" front and rear travel & dual supension lock outs are worth the weight penalty in my opinion. And I can have a lot more fun!

The headshok is incredibly stiff. When you're bouncing over rough stuff, there's no chatter like you get with a conventional fork. Anything with a crown will have some sort of flex, a Headshok does not. Sadly, it requires short service intervals, and is not easily serviced by the home mechanic.
