Thats a nice looking bike. I like the bar ends.
Speaking of which, why don't people run bar ends anymore? Weight issues? I like being able to shift hand position, especially when climbing.

One more thing is that when using gripshift you end up with a miniscule grip. My grips where about 2 inches each. Also, some guys swear off bar ends after one "snag incident", in which they hit the ground at the speed of pain.

Now I am starting to believe that the wide riser bar is technologically superior, giving some of the same advantages of bar ends with only one hand position. Of course there's nothing stopping you from running bar ends on a riser, except for it looking dorky.

Bar ends have saved me from replacing more than a few brake levers. But i just like changing my grip when im climbing.
I dont like riser bars, never have. Refused to put one on my old bike, and as long as it doesnt throw out the geometry on my next one, ill up swapping out the riser for a flat apon purchase.

The Trek 4500 I've had for 5 or 6 years I can't remember. But there's a new 05 Marz MX Comp ETA which replaced the piece RS Jett and also added an FSA stem and handlebar.
The Fuji in the back is mine and the Trek my brother rides now. Mmm.... how I like em both =)

A couple of pics from the archaic camera...
This thing rides like a dream compared to my 12 year old GT RTS Team.

I have had no problems with it. It holds air great and the lock out is very functional. The rebound has more adjustment then I am used to. You can actually tell a difference in the settings. I would recommend it.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
Finally getting around to doing this. My 'do-it-all' bike:
'04 Yeti ASX with:
RST Sigma X5 8" fork (or 7" RST Rapide, depending on the course); lots of FSA stuff (cranks, headset, bars, stem, etc.); 8" Avid BB7s; homemade copy of Heim 3-guide chain guide; 8-speed drivetrain and SRAM Rocket Shorty twist-shifters.

Edit: Sorry for the obnoxiously large pict before.

. But here's another shot anyway
Anyway, I love the inverted Sigmas. And I think I will like the next Rapide (the white & black ano in the first pict) I get. This one had some issues (possible bushing lock-up) and had to go back to R&D for a tear-down. If I end up getting as plush of 7" out of it as the 8" Sigmas are, I'll be a happy camper.
