I have read an article about those. They were invented 15 years ago but could never be brought to the market due to the traditional ball bearing manufacturer cartel and their powerful political lobby. The cartel was able to discredit the inventor with a 'black ops' style misinformation campaign. All the time financing their efforts by selling methamphetamines throughout various cities in the midwest. During this time, the cartel surreptitiously obtained the discredited scientists research and secretly filed their own patent.

Finally they have made it into bicycle pedals to the benefit of all mankind.

I believe there was an 'X files' was based on the above events.

2005 Stumpjumper. Got it as a close-out, saved $200 or so.

Custom stuff: a riser bar (2" wider and 1" higher than stock) and bar ends (covered by my gloves). It's set up for a night ride - light, rear flasher, pouch, pump, etc. It's so light... I love it.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

We've made some changes to the tandem, so I'll post a photo. I don't know if it's been posted here before. If anyone cares, it's all titanium, S&S couplers. Avid mechs with XT 203mm discs. Have some Magura hydros, just need the steel lines now. XT disc rear hub, no name 20mm thru-axle front hub, both laced to Sun Rhyno Lites. Continental 2.1 tires, or Maxxis, depending on the season. ATC Racing T5 tandem fork. SRAM X9 shifters/rear derailleur, XTR front. ODI lock on grips for me, generic super sticky for her. Onza porcupines on the bar ends. Shimano SPD M520/636 pedals. Specialized BG seats, with a suspension post for her. FSA tandem cranks. Most of the small hardware like crank bolts are Ti, or aluminium from SRP. Wireless computer up front, HRM for her, along with a GPS, a purple bell, and a pink kitty on her bars. Just added the Profile dual bottle holder behind my seat so she doesn't have to reach down for a drink. Priceless fun for the two of us.

I just joined and figured I'd post in this thread first. Lots of awesome bikes here, but it looks like there aren't too many full-rigid mountain bikes left. But that's what I have and here it is:

Good old double butted True Temper steel, Deore LX shifters, hubs, and cranks, XT front derailleur, Exage (1993 vintage) rear derailleur, Mavic 217 rims, cheap alloy stem and seatpost, etc. Last time I weighed it I had some street tires on it and it was around 24 pounds. Right now it has an Onza Rail folding front tire and some generic and very heavy Trek tire on the rear from 1994. I also noticed today that my right bar end is split right down the center. Does titanium become brittle with age?

hey nof3ar

you might want to rotate your bars so that the brake levers are at +/- 45 degrees to the level ground and your bar ends are sticking more forward than up.

I love the old chromo frame though.

I bought extra long bar ends, and put them at a really high angle because as you can see I have a 4 inch bar raiser on there. Before I put that on I had to hunch my back to hold onto the handle of the bike, thats why I have the bar ends so high lol.

Bikes: hardtail, squishy, fixed roadie, fixed crosser

67 frame with Boxxer Ride

Peyto hardtail with Pike Team

both with similar drivetrain and brake setups, though the squish has larger rotors and a slightly beefier overall build.
